TOGETHER WITH
Good morning, Annapolis. You will never convince me there’s anything in the entire world that’s messier than everything bagels. You’ll also never convince me there’s a better breakfast bread.
In today’s Naptown Scoop:
High school lacrosse preview

Let’s get to it.

Summer on the water starts here
Bay Ridge isn’t just a neighborhood in Annapolis – it’s a lifestyle. From community beaches and a marina to bike-friendly roads, walking trails, and year-round events, there’s no better place for waterfront living in Annapolis.
There’s a reason so few homes ever come up for sale in Bay Ridge. Nobody wants to leave!
That’s why we’re so excited about this stunning 4-bedroom, 4-bath waterfront home with breathtaking views of Lake Ogleton and direct access to the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. With a private deep-water dock featuring multiple lifts and slips, this is a boater’s dream.
But don’t take our word for it. See for yourself with this video tour! And good news, the price just improved to $2,699,000.

THE DIGEST
City Dock lawsuit remains undecided 🌊
A legal pause on flood prevention efforts in downtown Annapolis is keeping its head above water, for now at least. Construction at City Dock has been the subject of a lawsuit originally filed last October. The suit says the Historic Preservation Commission broke city laws when approved tearing down the harbormaster’s office and violated procedure during public hearings related to the flood prevention project. (Who filed the lawsuit? We don’t know — they’re allegedly a city resident, but remaining anonymous.) Because of the suit, construction has been delayed since January, but it’ll likely be another 2 weeks before we find out whether the project can move forward or whether this lawsuit will pour water on the plans entirely. If that’s the case, the city will have to seek new approvals on the site plans. ($)

Dog of the Week: Meet Omen 🐾

It’s hard not to be a sucker for a comeback story, and that’s why we love Omen. This Yorkshire terrier mix was found as a stray and suffers a little bit from his tough early years. But given that sweet face and lovable energy, he’s bound to find a home where he’ll be comfortable. All that said, the team at the SPCA says he takes a few meets to warm up and likes affection on his terms (same, Omen. Same). He’s been in Wing 2 at the SPCA (1815 Bay Ridge Avenue, Annapolis) since March 2022, but maybe this article is your omen to bring him into your home.
Capital Gazette 2025 high school boys lacrosse preview 🥍
With insight from head coaches, The Capital rounded up a 2025 boys lacrosse preview for our public and private high schools. Severna Park, Broadneck, and South River remain the terrible trio to beat, with Severna Park chasing its 9th straight 3A state title. Broadneck aims for a 4th straight 4A state final appearance, while South River looks to play spoiler (like it did last regular season against Severna Park).
Spalding is poised for another deep playoff run in the MIAA A Conference. The success of other local private schools will depend on their new coaches and athletes.
Surprisingly, county programs face declining numbers due to redistricting/more schools opening and COVID-19’s lasting impact on youth development and participation.

LOCAL BUSINESS
Celebrate Sweet Hearts Patisserie’s 13th Anniversary with a Sweet Sale
Macarons: the perfect dessert. Bite-sized and beautiful. Like pillows of happiness. And the best place in town for these delicacies is Sweet Hearts Patisserie in Clock Tower Plaza on Forest Drive. Lucky for us, Sweet Hearts is celebrating its 13th anniversary this Saturday with a rare sale on those plucky macarons: between 8 AM – 4 PM, you can score a box of 15 for just $27 (normally $36). Our advice: get there early and get two boxes. The first will disappear before you realize it. 1410 Forest Dr.
P.S. Macaron = tasty little French cookies we’re discussing here. Macaroon (two O’s) = tasty little coconut cookies that look messy but are delicious.
Local Farmer’s Market Roundup 🚜 🍎
Local honey, seasonal veggies, local producers, and the farm-to-table experience at home: those are a few reasons we love farmers’ markets. With the weather turning warmer (and because one of you asked. Thanks, Lexi!), we thought we’d compile a little roundup of Anne Arundel’s farmer’s markets.
🚜 Anne Arundel County Farmer’s Market Now entering its 42nd season, the AACo Farmer’s Market is open Saturday and Sunday mornings at the park-n-ride on Harry S. Truman Parkway.

🚜 Severna Park Farmer’s Market We have to wait another month for this to open, but once it does, this is the place to go for fresh produce, flowers, and (our favorite) bread. Ritchie Highway and Jones Station Road.
🚜 Wildberry Farm Market Fourth-generation farmers Bridget and Matt Jones just opened Wildberry Farm and Market for the season with local artisans, fresh produce, live music, and so much more. WHAT’S HAPPENIN’
Chesapeake Oyster Week 🦪
A shell-ebration like no other runs March 21–31 and it’s called Chesapeake Oyster Week! Oysters are pearls of the ecosystem — filtering water and creating habitats for tasty friends like blue crabs and rockfish. They also happen to be tasty friends themselves. Recycling shells grows new oysters, so every slurp counts!
Oh, and that old saying that you can only eat oysters in “R” months? Thanks to modern refrigeration, that’s a thing of the past.
Support Shell Recycling Alliance restaurants as they dish out oyster specials:
🦪 McGarvey's: $1 Oysters, Oyster Stew, Grilled Oysters, and more!
🦪 Boatyard Bar & Grill: Baked Oyster Trifecta — featuring Oysters Rockefeller.
🦪 Federal House Bar & Grille: Strawberry Mignonette Oysters, Cream of Crab Oysters, Fried Oyster Spinach Salad, Fried Oyster Piccata, and Buffalo Fried Oysters. Oh my!
🦪 Sailor Oyster Bar: Oysters with smoked trout roe.
