How to sell your home for Top Dollar
This housing market is hot! 🔥 There’s record low inventory and the average home is selling after only 9 days on the market. And through it all, Brad Kappel continues to achieve Top Dollar for his clients. How?
One reason is that Brad prepares homes for the market like they’re his own. Did you know a fresh coat of paint can increase your asking price by more than the job actually costs? And that’s just one of Brad’s secrets.
The always hot Spring market is right around the corner. Talk to Brad before it’s too late to take advantage. He’ll connect you to the best local contractors to prepare your home to get Top Dollar.

THE DIGEST
Vote for Annapolis 🗳️
Alright, Scoop. Annapolis is up for USA Today’s best small college town and I’ve got some bad news. Freakin’ Frostburg is ahead of us. Now no disrespect to any Bobcats among us, but where would you rather be, Frostburg or Annapolis? That’s what I thought. Go vote before April 1.
St. Patrick’s Weekend Guide 🍀 🍻
I was today years old when I learned how to do an Irish Cheers. Sláinte! Pronounced slawn-cha. Luckily I learned before the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Shamrock the Dock this weekend. We’ve compiled everything you may want to know for this weekend’s epic festivities. And of course, we’ve highlighted Annapolis’ best Irish pubs and any restaurants getting into the Irish spirit. Sláinte!

40 years of the Annapolis Cup
When I say Johnnies vs. Mids, you know exactly what I mean: the St. Johns-Navy croquet tournament. Annapolis Cup if we’re being formal (which you should be when playing croquet). Every spring, St. John’s College and the Naval Academy come together for a legendary showdown between the wickets.
Throngs of spectators turn out to watch. It’s always a fun day for pastel clothes and funny hats, long awaited spring weather, and golf clapping when everyone else does. Does anyone actually know the rules of croquet?
This year’s tournament — the 40th playing — is set for April 13. Tickets go on sale Friday. Order fast. This was an even hotter ticket than the Maritime Museum’s Oyster Roast last year.
📣 Money for music majors! 📣
Say this five times fast: Annapolis Musicians Fund for Musicians has musical money for motivated impending music majors. Okay, untwist your tongue. Applications are open for the $5,000 Tim King Music Performance Scholarship, available to students who are:
Graduating from AACPS this May/June
Active in chorus, band, orchestra, jazz band, or other school-sponsored music performance group
Hold a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better
Pursuing a degree in music performance this fall
Sound like you (or someone you know)? Check out the application process.

LOCAL BUSINESS
A shoutout for Always Ice Cream Company
Our friends, the Cohens, over at Always Ice Cream Company are the subject of a really nice article in the Capital right now. It talks all about the 2 new stores they’re opening this year. Sadly, neither is in Annapolis. But here are two fun facts about Always Ice Cream:
Co-owner Mark Cohen is a true day 1 fan of Naptown Scoop. He found our first-ever post because he thought we were a competing ice cream shop.
We pretended to buy and rebrand Always Ice Cream Company last April Fool’s Day with the picture below and a hilarious press release. Some people still think it’s true. ($)
Grand Opening of Be The Change, The Healing Collective ✂️ 🎀
Cheryl Pace already owns one local business, Change Your Pace Therapeutic Massage. Now she’s opening a second. Celebrate the Grand Opening of Be The Change, The Healing Collective this Thursday (3/14) from 5–6:30 PM. Cheryl was inspired to start the business after gaining incredible clarity after a near-death experience. Her mission is now to guide others to their “highest and best timeline.” RSVP for the grand opening here to learn more about Be The Change. 844 Ritchie Highway, Suite 105 in Severna Park

WHAT’S HAPPENIN’
AACC College Fair 🎓
What college should I attend? It’s the biggest question for many young people today. Anne Arundel Community College is here to help. The answer may be at the College Fair this Thursday. 125 colleges and universities will be there to talk admission requirements, tuition and financial aid, campus life, and more. Of course, AACC will be showing off its own fabulous facilities and programs as well. Stop by the Jenkins Gymnasium from 5:30–7:30 PM (3/14) to see what opportunities await.
Volunteer opp: Invasive Plant Removal Program 🌳
This volunteer event gets our green thumbs-up. 👍🏻💚 Scenic Rivers Last Trust is hosting three public work days on Saturday (3/16), Sunday (4/14), and Saturday (5/18) from 10 AM to noon. Protect the health of our local forests by removing harmful, invasive plants along the trails at Bacon Ridge Natural Area in Crownsville. The March workday focuses on plants easily visible in late winter/early spring that threaten forest vegetation. Work gloves and tools are provided but you can bring your own gear, too. Learn more and register.
