Indoor pickleball facility coming to Anne Arundel
Are you tired of everyone but you playing pickleball? I’ve got news for you. It ain’t going anywhere. It’s picking up speed. A group of investors led by Timothy Schnupp, Jimmy Hall, and Sonny Tannan just signed a deal to convert office space at 254 Najoles Road into a 10-court pickleball palace complete with locker rooms. Unlike most shots in pickleball, this group’s moving fast. The facility, which they’ve named The Dink, will open with seven courts this summer. ($)

Even though it’s spring, it’s gonna feel like fall on Saturday. Which will be perfect for Navy’s open football practice. The Mids hit the field at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium at 9 AM and practice until 11 AM. Pete Medhurst, the voice of Navy Football, will break things down over the PA system. After practice, he’ll host a Q&A with head coach Brian Newberry, OC Grant Chesnut, and DC PJ Volker. Family-friendly activities like Easter giveaways, balloon artists, and carnival games start at 10 AM. Autographs start at 11 AM.
Admission is free but parking is $10.
Masters Game of Skate 🛹

Plan ahead: Spring boat shows ⛵️ 🛥️
Heads up, boaters! The season’s almost here which means it’s time for the return of spring boat shows. For those that like to go fast, the Bay Bridge Boat Show is bringing power boats and heaps of vendors to the Bay Bridge Marina next weekend (April 14–16). For those who prefer things au naturale, you’ll want to mark your calendar for April 28–30 when the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show floats back to town.
And to friends of the Scoop, Elle and Dan, who are converting from sail to power for the first time ever this season . . . welcome to the dark side.
