Johnnies win again!
The Annapolis Cup returned to St. Johnâs College this weekend. Literally. The match returned to the beautiful St. Johnâs campus on Saturday. And on Sunday (more on that later) the trophy did too. The overall record now sits at 31 wins for St. Johnâs, 8 for Navy.
3,000 fans attended Saturday. Most wore pastels, hats, or bowties while some wore all three. A little (ok, kind of a lot) of rain didnât stop the party. But lightning postponed the conclusion where the Johnnies avenged last yearâs rare loss until yesterday.
Rain notwithstanding, it was a wonderful Saturday in Annapolis. Enjoy a short photo album.

Full of Sole đ
Every senior at the Severn School does something called an Innovative Senior Project (ISP). Itâs two weeks they spend exploring interests, contributing to the community, or creating something they wouldnât have time for otherwise. Jamison Wildt decided his ISP would combine his love of shoes and drawing.
So he set out to create 50 custom doodle shoe kits for children in need. Each kit includes a doodled pair of Vans and colored Sharpies so the recipient can customize the shoes.
Jamison holding a doodled pair of Vans
Jamison raised the $3,000 needed for the project in less than a month. Good thing, too. Heâs got a lot of doodling to do before he heads to the Coast Guard Academy in June. Awesome work, Jamison!
DLS Building construction road closures
From today until December, Bladen Street between Calvert Street and College Avenue and College Avenue between Church Circle and North Street will be closed entirely. Outbound downtown traffic should now use West Street. Hereâs a handy map visualizing the closures.
Tyler Heights Elementary vandal identified

U-boat in the Bay
đž @motoxdms | đChesapeake Bay
Did you know the U.S. Government used the towers at Greenbury Point to communicate with underwater submarines? At one point there were nine (towers, not submarines). The remaining three were built in 1938.

Local Business
Black Market Bakers: Now twice as dangerous đ„đ„
Arguably the hottest new Annapolis business of the last three years just expanded. Black Market Bakers opened a second brick-and-mortar location this weekend with a clandestine soft opening. And good news for those who think Edgewater may as well be Canada (like me). BMB #2 is located at Port Annapolis â 7074 Bembe Beach Road, Annapolis, MD 21403. The mouth-watering shop is open Wednesday through Sunday from 8 AM to 2 PM.

Save the date: SpinSheet Crew Party â”ïž

Scoopâs Insider Tip: Sign up for SpinSheetâs online Crew Finder or update your existing profile before the party and get a discount to the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show happening that same weekend.

Rugby rolls on đ
Navy couldnât beat croquet rival St. Johnâs this weekend, but the Mids sent Army Rugby packing in the Division I-A quarterfinals. It was only 13â6 halfway through the match. But a dominant second half propelled Navy to a resounding 30â6 victory. The top-ranked men take on #2 seed Lindenwood in the semifinals at home this Saturday.
