Dr. Namita Murthy is a board-certified hair restoration specialist who performs scarless hair transplants in her state of the art, comfortable office right here in Annapolis. No general anesthesia. Minimal downtime. And we’ll say it again, no scars.

She can also do hairline lowering surgery, eyebrow and beard transplants, platelet-rich plasma therapy, and more!

Hair loss affects 85% of men by the age of 50. So it’s nothing to be ashamed of. And it affects women too. So check this out.

THE DIGEST

Introducing the Naptown Philharmonic Orchestra

Guess what? We’re starting an orchestra. Just kidding. The Londontowne Symphony Orchestra closed out their 20th season by revealing a new name: Naptown Philharmonic Orchestra.

Music Director and Conductor Dr. Anna Binneweg said, “Our new name and new look better connect us to this area,” adding that the orchestra “plans to be more visible in the community outside of the performance stage.”

And we may be biased, but we like the new name a lot. Keep an eye out for the upcoming season announcement in the Naptown Scoop!

Memorial Day in Annapolis 🇺🇸

Can you believe Memorial Day is one week from today? And so is the Memorial Day parade! The parade steps off May 27 at 10 AM. Here’s the route: Amos Garrett Boulevard & West Street → Church Circle → Main Street → City Dock. Expect rolling road closures. Following the parade, the Fleet Reserve Club will host a Memorial Day ceremony at 11:30 AM. Parade entrants can participate for free but must apply by Tuesday (5/21). Interested? Email [email protected].

FYI: The Pip Moyer Rec Center, city offices, and Stanton Center will all be closed on May 27. Monday’s trash collection will bump to Tuesday (5/28) and Tuesday’s bumps to Wednesday (5/29). Annapolis Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule with the Purple Route in operation from 7 AM to 8 PM.

Look at that transformation! 😎

This is why we love what we do at Annapolis Orthodontics!

Everyone knows orthodontists straighten teeth. But how do you know which orthodontist to go to? You look at their work, hear what people are saying, and, if all that sounds good, you go in to meet them for yourself.

If you’re considering orthodontic treatment for yourself or your child, schedule a consultation with Annapolis Orthodontics.

WHAT’S HAPPENIN’

Musical Monday 🎶

🥁 Modeumbuk-Sound of the Wind: The Severna Park Library’s community meeting room will get surprisingly loud in a fun way on Saturday (5/25) from 11 AM to noon. Stepping Stones, a youth drumming team, will play traditional Korean sounds during a modeumbuk performance.

🎸 Hatton-Regester Green concerts: Catch a free concert and some fresh air Sunday (5/26) from 4–6 PM with classic rock duo Sparks and McCoy. Hatton-Regester Green is near the intersection of Evergreen Rd and B&A Blvd. This is weather dependent. BYO blanket or chair.

Coming Up This Week

Sure, we could talk about the fact that it’s the Naval Academy’s Commissioning Week. And we will. But it’s one of many things on the calendar this second-to-last week of May. Here’s what’s going on:

🛩️ Let’s start with Blue Angels because that’s what we’re all psyched out of our minds about. Remember there are two shows – rehearsal on Tuesday and flight demonstration on Wednesday, both start at 2 PM. The weather looks mighty good for Wednesday but Tuesday looks fine too. Get details on where to watch the shows and lots more Commissioning Week info in our helpful guide.

🍺 Join Forward Brewing on Tuesday for the release of their Rose Italian Pilsner, a one of a kind beer created for Annapolis Arts Week. From 5–8 PM, $1 per pint will support Annapolis Arts Week, which starts June 1 — 418 4th St, Annapolis, MD.

🥃 Take a sip of history at Historic London Town and Gardens’ Colonial Cocktail ENCORE on Wednesday from 6:30–7:30 PM. Try the naval classic Grog or fruity Sangaree — 839 Londontown Road, Edgewater, MD.

🫡 The Naval Academy’s Brigade of Midshipmen have their third and final formal dress parade on Thursday. The Color Parade starts at 11 AM on Worden Field. Rain location is Halsey Field House.
