A MESSAGE FROM CURRENT DERMATOLOGY

Understanding Wrinkles: Beyond Botox

Many people turn to Botox for wrinkle reduction, but wrinkles arise from more than just muscle movement. They develop due to two primary factors: repetitive facial expressions and collagen loss, which starts in our 20s. While Botox effectively relaxes the muscles that contribute to dynamic wrinkles, it doesn’t tackle the diminishing collagen, a crucial protein for youthful skin.

For a comprehensive approach, consider collagen-stimulating treatments like microneedling, laser therapy, or ultrasound. These non-invasive procedures enhance collagen production, improving skin texture and elasticity. They can be used alone or alongside Botox for optimal results. Investing in collagen-stimulating treatments not only helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles but also promotes long-term skin health, ensuring a radiant appearance for years to come.

Whether you’ve relied solely on Botox or haven’t started an anti-aging regimen, book a consultation with one of our expert doctors to create a personalized collagen stimulation plan tailored to your needs.

THE DIGEST

Lifeline ride raises $31.5K 🚲

Fundraising totals are in for the 10th annual Lifeline 100 ride, which brought out 858 cyclists to tour the county by bike. But above and beyond having a great time, the cyclists raised $31.5K to benefit local nonprofits, which organizers of Bicycle Advocates for Annapolis and Anne Arundel County (BikeAAA) presented last week. Recipients included:

👉 Anne Arundel Crisis Response System
👉 Friends of Anne Arundel County Trails
👉 Friends of Kinder Farm Park

Mark your calendar: A date has already been set for next year’s Lifeline 100 – October 5, 2025.
