📖🧂🏃🏻♀️Get Salty about Fundraising with Kate Myers: Kate Myers, a bestselling novelist and local marathon runner, is raising $5K for Bras for Girls ahead of the NYC Marathon. AACPL becomes Maryland’s first book sanctuary 👏📚
Some might already consider Anne Arundel County Public Library (AACPL) a book sanctuary . . . but now it’s official! AACPL is the first library in Maryland designated as a Book Sanctuary, a title shared with libraries across North America. This initiative, which began in Chicago in 2022, focuses on protecting endangered books and promoting intellectual freedom. County Executive Steuart Pittman and Mayor Buckley joined AACPL CEO Skip Auld in this announcement at the Annapolis Mall library, coinciding with Banned Books Week and rising censorship challenges.
Cheers to AACPL: Raise a Glass to Your Freedom to Read events at local breweries:
🍻 October 1, 5–7 pm | Forward Brewing (Annapolis)
🍻 October 12, 12–3 pm | Pherm Brewing (Crofton)
🍻 October 24, 4–7 pm | Crooked Crab Brewing (Odenton)
Each brewery has an exclusive libation, with 20% of sales supporting enhancements at all 16 library branches. Plus, get a limited-edition pint glass for a $10 donation!

Where were we Wednesday? 📸
ANSWER:
This lovely pavilion is part of Annapolis Maritime Museum’s Park Campus. When we attended a September Sunsets Concert earlier this month, we spotted this shot while enjoying the tunes and views. The Merrill Family Pavilion is nestled between wooded hiking trails and the historic waterworks building. The site boasts a huge fireplace, exquisite craftsmanship, and these medieval-looking chandeliers, all in a serene waterfront location.
Thanks for playing and congrats to @cjlogiudice, @jadeski, and @doesabelhaus for being the first 3 to answer correctly. 🎉
