Good morning, Annapolis. Just like puffy sleeves, high-waisted jeans, and Barbie, Naptown Scoop’s back, baby.

Let’s get to it.

Zero compromises in Bay Ridge

Most homes in Bay Ridge are missing one thing. They have a great dock but no garage. A garage but a tiny yard. But 168 W Lake? This one has it all.

  • Deep water pier with multiple slips and a rare huge boathouse (it literally used to be the community marina)

  • Waterside pool

  • Almost a full acre lot

  • 1 car garage

  • Commanding view of Lake Ogleton

  • Even a rooftop deck

Inside, 6 bedrooms and 4.5 baths spread across 4,800 square feet. Every room is thoughtfully placed to maximize the views.

168 W Lake is one of the best homes in one of Annapolis’ most iconic neighborhoods. Contact Brad Kappel for a private tour.

Annapolis can’t sue HUD

U.S. District Judge Catherine C. Blake ruled that the City of Annapolis cannot sue the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for underfunding its public housing communities. This means the City and HACA (Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis) might be on the hook for a lawsuit that’d make Taylor Swift tickets look like a bargain. A similar lawsuit required the City and HACA to pay 52 public housing residents $1.8 million. The class action suit in question could require damages to 1,600 people. ($)

What’s Happenin’

🏓 & 🍝 Under the Stars

Two kinds of people attend Dinner Under the Stars. Both come hungry. The difference is their weapon. One uses a paddle; the other uses a fork (maybe chopsticks at Tsunami). If you’re there to dine, you’ve got 7 locally-owned options with wildly different menus. If you’re there for pickleball, follow the sound (a distinct pop) until you find a tall man with a fantastic head of hair and a whiteboard. He’ll get you onto the courts.

Either way you’ll enjoy a fabulous Annapolis night and music from the Spice Trio. Dinner Under the Stars runs from 6–10 PM every Wednesday (and Saturday) through September 23.

Networking doesn’t have to be cringe

In fact if it is, you should probably leave (cue the Chris Stapleton). We think you should take your business cards here this week. Today – that’s Wednesday – is Annapolis Green’s Green Drinks at the Trophy Room. The eco-conscious shindig is 5:30–7:30 PM. The challenge is simple: Meet one new person and learn one new thing.

Tomorrow – that’s Thursday – is the Rising Stars launch party. Rising Stars is a new group for young professionals created by Maryland Hall and Leadership Anne Arundel. Don’t let the name fool you. Only one thing matters to this crew: Passion for the Arts. The party (and its unique pay-what-you-want cash bar) is 6–8 PM at Maryland Hall. Click here to RSVP.

Save these Dates

Forget Wedding Crashers’ famous claim that crabcakes and football is what Maryland does. It’s all about picking crabs and cycling. Why? Because the Rotary Club of Annapolis just opened ticket sales for its annual crab feast and Lifeline 100 just opened early bird registration for its annual ride.

The crab feast is August 4 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and includes all-you-can-eat crabs, corn on the cob, and BBQ. General admission is $85 ($25 for children 3–12). Reserved seating and private dining are available.

Lifeline 100 is October 1 and starts and finishes at Kinder Farm Park in Millersville. You’ve got four distance options – 15, 30, 65, or 100 miles. Registration is limited to 1,000 riders and early bird pricing ends today.

Great sex starts with great health

Sex should improve with age. Practice makes perfect. But this isn’t the case for many. That’s because they ignore their sexual health. Erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, and vaginal atrophy destroy relationships. Thankfully (because scientists like good sex too), there are awesome, non-invasive treatments. GAINSWave® and FemiWave® can restore your sexual wellness in 6 to 12 weeks. If your sex life is suffering, discretely email Warrior Medical to see if treatment is right for you.*

Look at your house

Seriously. Go outside and look at it. Does it make you happy? If yes, check again in a few months. If no, it’s time for a pressure washing. Blue Heron Property Services is fully licensed, insured, and has cleaned hundreds of houses. Their special Soft Wash cleaning method is always safe and effective. Remember, it’s worked on hundreds of houses. Get a free estimate today.*

Navy baseball coach retires ⚾️

After 34 years as a D1 head coach (18 at Navy), Navy baseball coach Paul Kostacopoulos is leaving the dugout. All that experience isn’t won’t be wasted though. Paul is staying with the athletic department in an administrative role. He retires as the second-winningest coach and first-hardest name to pronounce in Navy baseball history. Must be why everyone called him Coach Kosty.
