Sock Burning & Oyster Roast | PHOTOS

Governor Wes Moore, County Executive Steuart Pittman, and Mayor Gavin Buckley burn the first socks of the day

It’s officially spring in Annapolis. Not because today’s the vernal equinox, but because we burned our socks on Saturday. Even Governor Wes Moore joined the fun. See Scoop’s photos.

It’s Spring-Cleaning Time at Current Dermatology

1. Last Call for Laser Treatments! Given the strict pre- and post-treatment sun exposure restrictions surrounding laser procedures, NOW is the ideal time to book a Broadband Light (BBL), Halo, or Vascular laser treatment before the warmer weather arrives! Facial laser treatments are the perfect way to even out skin discoloration, shrink enlarged pores, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, or correct scarring. There’s no better way to head into the summer than with a fresh face that requires no cover-up!

2. Get your skin summer ready with a skin cancer screening exam! Don’t go into the summer without getting your annual baseline skin exam. A full body screening helps to ensure optimal skin health before the sunniest days are upon us. Our expert, board-certified dermatologists have immediate availability and can’t wait to meet you!

What to do when Annapolis floods

MyCoast Maryland is a free website developed by DNR which collects and analyzes local flooding photos. Next time you see some flooding, upload a picture to the app. It helps government agencies, business owners, and residents understand the impacts of and reduce localized flooding. Thanks to Kate Vogel from DNR for the tip!

Hope is all we have

There’s no cure for Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA). But the FDA just approved a breakthrough treatment that can slow the disease by 50%! That’s why this year’s Night to Fight FA is even more special to the Burrows Hill Foundation. The foundation has raised more than 700,000 dollars to fund FA research. We’ll be joining them on April 15 for the fifth annual Night to Fight to raise even more and hope you will too.*
