Mission BBQ closing, Annapolis Blues 2024 jersey, more snow...

TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Annapolis. We have to apologize to Vice Admiral Yvette Davids. In yesterdayā€™s Scoop, we referred to her as a Rear Admiral ā€“ one rank below Vice Admiral. Before USNAā€™s superintendent change of command ceremony, Admiral Davids was promoted. Thanks to Scoop reader Jeff Borland for pointing this out!

In todayā€™s Naptown Scoop:

  • Mission BBQ closing

  • Annapolis Blues 2024 jersey

  • More snow???

Letā€™s get to it.

New Play Museum in SP šŸ›

The new Play Street Museum (PSM) in Severna Park is a kidā€™s idea of heaven. Itā€™s also a great way to have inside fun while still getting out of the house. The space offers endless entertainment for kids ages 1ā€“8. Admission is $14.50 for a 90-minute play session.

My three-year-old and five-year-old daughters had a blast. TBH, I did too and loved not having to clean up the mess. I also loved the local nods to Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company and Annapolis Pediatrics. The play spaces are complete with costumes, crutches, and anything else needed for imaginative play.

The included snack at the end was a helpful transition for toddlers who didnā€™t want to leave.

Play Street Museum is perfect for parties, field trips, or even a special playtime. Click here to make a reservation. 560 Ritchie Highway Suite F Severna Park, MD 21146

THE DIGEST

Introducing Drew, the Thomas Point Lighthouse coyote

David Sites poses with Drew on the poop-free dock (photo: James Ronayne)

Itā€™s official ā€” the decoy coyote of Thomas Point Lighthouse has a new name. Based on your votes, heā€™ll be called Drew, named after Captain Drew of the Big Worm fishing boat. Captain Drew is the genius who suggested the coyote decoy in the first place to scare away the seagulls who were pooping on the pier.

So, who won the lighthouse tour? Whoever submitted the winning name was supposed to get two lighthouse tour tickets for the upcoming season. The thing is, David Sites suggested the name Drew. Heā€™s the official lighthouse photographer and has toured it plenty of times. So heā€™s letting us give them away.

Want to win? Just click here and follow us on Instagram. Already a follower? Hit that link anyway and youā€™ll be entered automatically.

šŸ—³ļø Which Annapolis Blues jersey do you love?

The Annapolis Blues are one of the first lower-division soccer clubs in America to get a custom PUMA kit. There are four jersey options for the 2024 NPSL season and just like the team name, the Blues want your help picking. But hurry, voting closes today. Click here to vote.

Donā€™t miss the big moments šŸˆ

The Super Bowl is coming up, and this is our big year ā€“ the Ravens could win it! Imagine this: itā€™s the 4th quarter, 53 seconds on the clock, weā€™re down 42 - 38. . .

Lamar Hail Marys it to OBJ. The footballā€™s flying through the air. OBJ leaps AND. . .

You have to pee. You donā€™t want to miss the big moment, but itā€™s so urgent you HAVE to go.

Nobody wants that. But overactive bladders are very common ā€“ about 33 million Americans live with its symptoms. AAUrology can help you get rid of them. Make an appointment so you never miss another big moment.

WHATā€™S HAPPENINā€™

More snow may be on the way

If you were wishing for snow. . . well, you got your wish. BWI hadnā€™t seen more than an inch of snow in almost two years until Tuesday. And more might be on the way Friday. Weather forecasters originally called for 1ā€“3 inches but the latest forecasts donā€™t even predict an inch. Either way, watch the AACPS website tonight, drive safely, and if you need us, weā€™ll be scrolling Zillow for condos in Florida.
