Water Taxis now run 7 days a week ā“ļø š
I feel like a broken record but hereās yet another sign that warm weather is officially here. Our beloved water taxis are back to running 7 days a week. These little boats are part of what makes Annapolis so special. And if youāve never used them and are a little intimidated (like I was once), hereās a handy little map. Call that number to hail a boat.
Ever wondered how people get to the boats in the middle of the harbor? Probably water taxi!
š« Give back your guns. No questions asked.
Annapolis PD is doing something new this weekend ā a gun giveback. Anyone can surrender any gun, no matter how ill-gotten or illegal, at the station on Saturday. No questions asked. Just unload your gun, arrive between 10 AM and 2 PM, and let the officer on duty remove it from your car. Theyāll happily take your ammo too. Just make sure the gunās unloaded. 199 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401.

LOCAL BUSINESS
The coolest music club in Severna Park
Thereās a new venue in town for live music. Laura MacKay, a Severna Park High alum and longtime music advocate, recently opened Parris Underground. But this isnāt your average music venue. Itās all about the music and those who enjoy it so two things are different than most venues. No age restrictions and no alcohol. They do have a non-alcoholic bar with homemade lemonade and limeade though.
Performances are 7ā10:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays starting tonight. Thereās also a weekly open mic night Sunday from 4ā7 PM. Bring cash. Thereās a $10 cover. Note: Parris Underground is closed for a private event this Saturday. 497 Ritchie Highway, Suite 1C, Severna Park, MD 21146.
Oscar's Coffee and SPCA š¶ āļø š¾
Oscarās Coffee, Eastportās favorite waterfront coffee trailer, has been the most dog-friendly coffee shop in town since day 1. But tomorrow, itāll be even more so. Because the SPCAās mobile unit will park dockside with their lovable adoptable animals. Even if your house is at max pet capacity like mine, sipping on one of Oscarās new spring specials while meeting new dogs still sounds like a perfect Saturday. 5/11 from 10 AMā12 PM. 105 Eastern Ave, Annapolis, MD 21403.

WHATāS HAPPENINā
Historic Annapolis Plant Sale šŖ“
Consider this your final reminder for the annual Historic Annapolis Plant Sale. Itās Saturday (5/11) from 10 AMā4 PM and Sunday (5/12) from 12ā4 PM. The 50-year tradition always draws a huge crowd to William Pacaās garden but we know a secret. Historic Annapolis members get in 30 minutes early on Saturday and get 10% off. Thatās 10% off any of the 7,000+ plants to choose from. Iād say joiningās worth it for that reason alone. Either way, enter the garden at 1 Martin Street, Annapolis, MD 21401.
The easiest race youāll ever run
My college friend, David, once ran a half-marathon with zero training. He couldnāt walk right for weeks. But I bet you can run Saturdayās 0.05k Bridge Run without training. First off, donāt assume the ākā stands for kilometer. Given that the Spa Creek bridge is about 700 feet long, that wouldnāt be quite right; 0.05 km = 164 feet. Second, donāt stress. Runnerās World once called this āthe least challenging athletic event ever conceived.ā Most people finish in less than a minute. I plan to run in a suit en route to my best friendās wedding.
Sound doable? Great! Register online today or in-person (before 11:30 AM) on the Eastport side of the bridge Saturday. Not fast? There are awards for costumes, too. My favorite is the āDang, I Wish Iād Thought of That Costumeā award. Theyāll be awarded during the afterparty at OāLearys.
Rock on and eat up šøš
Nope, itās not a typo ā the Naptown Music Feast (not Fest) is so named because it combines local music groups and 20+ food trucks. This festival at the county fairgrounds starts at noon Saturday, goes until 10 PM, and features music from:
Petty Coat Junction
Sons of Pirates
Jah Works
The Regal Beagles
Sweet Leda
Midnight Madnezz
Plus you (or at least the kids) can ride a mechanical bull, climb a rock wall, or test your axe-throwing skills. Yeah, better leave that stuff to the kids. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the gate. Love a deal? Buy 3 tickets and get 1 free. Kids under twelve are also free!
