EYC Foundation Auction opens today 🦀
It’s time to shore up some support for the EYC Foundation, the charitable arm of Eastport Yacht Club, which raises anchor on its annual fundraising campaign today. Check out the online auction; bidding starts today through September 8. There is an impressive variety of items: local art, jewelry, unique experiences, and even a Wine Lovers’ Delight Raffle with 30+ champagnes and wines valued at over $1,000.
New this year at the close of the virtual auction, there will be a Grand Finale Party on Sunday, September 8. Enjoy signature cocktails, wine and beer, an oyster bar, heavy appetizers, and desserts. Buy final wine raffle tickets and bid on 10 special auction items available that night only. Proceeds from the auction benefit the foundation’s work with youth, inspiring future stewards of the Chesapeake Bay.
Naptown Philharmonic Orchestra strikes a new chord 🎻
The Naptown Philharmonic Orchestra, formerly the Londontowne Symphony Orchestra, begins a new chapter on September 21 when Conductor Anna Binneweg grabs her baton to start the 2024–2025 season.
The Unity and Resilience concert begins at 7:30 PM at Maryland Hall, honoring Hispanic Heritage Month with Latin American music, plus other well-known compositions. Cellist Diana Curtis will also play Tchaikovsky’s “Variations on a Rococo Theme.” Tickets go on sale soon at naptownphil.org and cost $25. All students are free.

Urbano Tex-Mex opening 🌮
It’s getting spicy at Annapolis Town Center with the opening of Urbano Tex-Mex, a sophisticated 5,000-square-foot establishment offering a contemporary take on Tex-Mex fare. The grand opening is scheduled for next Tuesday at 5 PM.
In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Urbano Tex-Mex will offer special promotions, including the sizzling Molcajete and their Pumpkin Margarita, from September 15 to October 15. Urbano is located at 1915 Towne Centre Blvd Ste. 150, next to P.F. Chang’s, and reservations are highly recommended for opening week.

Navy football opens ‘24 season 🏈
Navy football kicks off its season this weekend against Bucknell on Saturday at noon. The game’s happening at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, but if you don’t have tickets, you can watch on CBS Sports Network or stream online.
