Noah LaLonde, also known for Criminal Minds and Deer Camp ‘86, and his co-star Ashby Gentry, also known for Are You Afraid of the Dark?, will be at Westfield Annapolis from 12:30 PM–3:00 PM on Saturday, April 20th.

AACPS graduation rate check in 🎓
We recently shared how AACPS’ Virtual Academy has had a 100% graduation rate since its inception. Let’s see where AACPS’ brick and mortar schools land for the Class of 2023:
6 schools graduated 95% of students or better
5 additional schools were over 90%
Despite unprecedented adversity – a global pandemic comes to mind – these top 11 schools are doing better now than before covid. Glen Burnie HS saw the biggest gain with 3.5%. The graduation rate for unhoused students jumped 6.6%, English Learners increased 3.7%, and economically disadvantaged students went up 3.25%.
Anne Arundel’s overall rate is 87.68% – nearly two full percentage points above Maryland’s average.

Pizza and Pints
No, not that kind of pint. In this case, we’re talking about a pint of blood – enough to save three lives. So if you’re willing to donate, stop by NEO Pizza today between 12–6 PM. The blood drive benefits Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center and there are still plenty of slots available.
Can’t make it? Save your blood. We’re hosting one for LHAAMC in May and it may include the other kind of pints.
Save the date: Annapolis Frogman Swim 🐸 🔱
We’re about a month out from the Annapolis Frogman Swim. It’s an open-water swim set for April 28, when participants will raise money and awareness for the Navy SEAL Foundation. They’ll also be honoring fallen Navy grads who served as SEALs or Special Warfare Combatants. The inaugural event last year raised more than $46,000 for the foundation.
Opening festivities begin at 7:30 AM on April 28 with the first wave of swimmers setting out at 8:30 AM. You can still register to participate through March 31. Not up for a swim? Kayak escorts are still needed and they need general volunteers as well. To register, donate, or volunteer, click here.
Don’t DIY May Day 💐
May Day in Annapolis is so very whimsical. What’s May Day? Every May 1, homes and businesses place flower arrangements on their front doors for a basket competition. It can be a heap of work. But we have good news.
Four Rivers Garden Club has you covered with custom and ready-made May Day Baskets. You just have to come to their 79th Annual Flower Mart on April 28 from 10 AM–1:30 PM at Maryland Hall. They have a make-your-own-basket workshop too. Proceeds benefit community gardening projects of the Four Rivers Garden Club. Contact [email protected] for more info.
Nothing in this section is sponsored. They're just the things you need to know. I'll always let you know when something's sponsored.
