Why is Fall considered “Laser Season”?

Fall is the ideal time for laser treatments for two reasons:

1. Many lasers require pre-and/or post-treatment sun avoidance
2. Some lasers require a treatment series- ranging from one to six sessions

Starting laser treatments in the Fall allows you to complete an appropriate treatment series, if necessary, before Spring, while also ensuring your safety and getting you amazing results before the holidays!

At Current Dermatology we offer Halo Resurfacing (a patient favorite!), BBL, and Vascular Laser. Call or visit currentderm.com to book your treatment now, and inquire more about our exciting new patient financing options.

THE DIGEST

Navy Football Podcast: USF Recap

It was a great start. It was a season-high 30 points. But it was not enough to beat USF. Navy fell to the South Florida Bulls 44–30 on Saturday. Listen to Bill Wagner and our Navy Football Podcast crew break it all down in today’s 30-minute episode. Perfect for a morning walk, drive to work, or in between sets at the gym.

Navy hires firm to design safer firing range near Greenbury Point

So you know how access to Greenbury Point is sometimes blocked because people are training on the firing range nearby? That may not happen much longer. A Georgia company just got a $300k contract to draw up plans to fully baffle the range.

Baffles are bullet blockers that will stop errant bullets from going on unauthorized hiking adventures at Greenbury Point. Once they’re built, we won’t need a Surface Danger Zone that closes when the range is open.

The design will be done this spring, at which point construction bids will open.

City Council passes Wells Cove resolution

The courts declared it. City Council’s resolved it. There’s no doubt now (except for the active litigation) that Wells Cove is a public water access point. This latest resolution passed by City Council calls for a sign indicating public water access and prohibits anything from impeding public access. ($)

Lost? Here’s some background Scoop:

The Blue Heron Cove condos were built on Wells Cove in the 80s. A City Council resolution required a path giving the public access to walk at the cove. No formal agreement was made. Two Eastport residents sued for access in February 2021. That suit was dismissed. An easement agreement was made allowing access to the path but not the water. A second suit was filed and that’s where we are now.

IKEA’s coming to town

Ödmjuk. Järvfjället. Mästerby. If these words mean something to you, you either speak Swedish or love IKEA products. Good news for the latter: an IKEA “Plan & Order” is coming to the Harbour Center. This is a massively scaled-down version of the classic superstore where you can order and pick up products. It’s expected to open in late 2023.

Fun fact: You could fit about 75 of these Plan & Order stores in a typical IKEA superstore.

Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade

I know, I know – we just started using the word “Halloween” around here. But Eastport Yacht Club just announced the 2023 Lights Parade date so this Scoop is gonna be spooky and jolly, OK? The beloved Annapolis tradition is December 9 from 6–8 PM.

For the uninitiated, this is when a bunch of hearty Annapolitans decorate their boats with lights and freeze their jingle bells off parading down Ego Alley and Spa Creek for thousands of equally freezing spectators.

It’s great fun and absolutely worth layering up for. Click here to enter a boat! Otherwise, stay tuned for spectating instructions.
