Home Owner's Expo, Brigade Boxing Championships, X-Golf...

TOGETHER WITH
Brad Kappel key and anchor logo

Good morning, Annapolis. A DC man is suing the lottery for publishing his numbers as the winning numbers by mistake. He’s seeking the full amount he would have won plus interest – a total of $340 million.

In today’s Naptown Scoop:

  • Home Owner’s Expo

  • Brigade Boxing Championships

  • Introducing X-Golf

Let’s get to it.

P.S. Happy birthday to Lex Arizzi, Chris Ingersoll, & Andrea “Dr. Dre” Estrada! 🎂

Live the Waterfront Dream in Edgewater

Let me paint you a picture. Every morning, you wake up to a beautiful sunrise over the Chesapeake Bay. You sip your coffee as waves gently break on the rip rap. And every evening, the last thing you see before retiring is the watchful light of the Thomas Point Lighthouse. Sounds nice, right?

That’s life at 4163 Carvel Lane. And it's not just the location that's great.

The home itself might be even more impressive. With 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms across a generous lot, there's plenty of comfort and privacy. The home’s design brings the outside in from almost any room.

And for the boaters among us, it’s a dream come true. The home has a private pier complete with a 300 square-foot sun deck and boat lift. And because it’s right on the mouth of the river, you’ll be underway instantly.

Ready to make this your home? Contact Brad Kappel for a private tour today.

New traffic light 🚦

We’re not saying traffic on St. Margaret’s Road is the worst thing ever, but a new light is probably not a bad idea. The State Highway Administration is installing a signal where St. Margaret’s intersects Old Mill Bottom Road and Pleasant Plains Road. (If you’re trying to picture it, that’s right next to St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church.) Construction should be done before summer if the weather cooperates. Work will be done on weekdays during off-peak hours.

LOCAL BUSINESS

How’s Naty’s Tex Mex?

If you drive the West Street corridor, you may have noticed Tequila Sunrise is now Naty’s Tex Mex. You might also be wondering how it is. Lucky for you, Scoop reader Albert tried it out last week and reported his findings.

It was a truly wonderful experience. The decor and ambiance were authentic and classy. The wait staff was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and very responsive. Last, but certainly not least, was the food and presentation. They were superb, truly exceptional!! We like Tex-Mex, but it often leaves us feeling stuffed, but not satisfied. This is the first time we felt satisfied all the way around. The presentation was also just perfect, beautiful.

Try Naty’s at 1975 West Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. It’s open 11 AM–10 PM every day except Sunday. Check out the menu before you go!

Introducing X-Golf ⛳

I got a great call out of the blue green yesterday from commercial real estate broker John Rosso. He was excited to share that X-Golf is opening in Annapolis this spring. What’s X-Golf? Only the most innovative and accurate golf simulator experience around. They have real courses most golfers only dream of. And great food. Long story short: golfers should be more stoked than when I got my first eagle. We’ll of course keep you updated on the opening.

X-Golf Annapolis will be teeing off at 167 Jennifer Road, Suite Y in Jennifer Square seven days a week.

LISTEN: Anchors Aweigh interviews Navy soccer standout turned fighter pilot turned astronaut 🎙️

What college do you think has the most astronauts? I’ll give you a hint. It’s not Air Force (41). It’s not West Point (21). It’s not even Neil Armstrong’s alma mater, Purdue. It’s the Naval Academy with 54. And the Anchors Aweigh Podcast just interviewed one of those, Nicole Aunapu Mann.

Nicole was a soccer standout and captain at Navy in the 90s. Then she commissioned into the Marine Corps and flew F/A-18 Hornets. And in October 2021, she led a mission to the International Space Station. Don’t miss this incredible conversation 👩‍🚀
