7-hour power outage, sporting women in the spotlight, get to the Greek...
TOGETHER WITH
Good morning, Annapolis. PSA: Unless thereās a cop directing traffic, intersections act as four-way stops during power outages.
Letās get to it.

Maritime Museum opens gorgeous pavilion
The folks at the Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park have been pretty adamant about not forgetting ā& Parkā recently. And now that the Merrill Family Pavilion is open, itās not hard to see why. The 2,600-square-foot pavilion is the piĆØce de rĆ©sistance of the museumās Park Campus ā home of the September Sunsets concert series.
Itās available for rent just like the museum in Eastport; in fact, itāll host its first wedding this very weekend. To counteract less than ideal weather, there are clear, removable side panels and four giant fans. Which werenāt on because like half of Annapolis, the pavilion had no power last night. But I bet they would have made it 5ā10 degrees cooler. And when you need 5ā10 degrees the other way, thereās a giant, wood-burning fireplace.
Thereās no venue quite like this in Annapolis. Contact Amber Herr at the museum for rental inquiries.

Crabs with the second best view in town
The Choptank may seem like a fancy schmancy restaurant. But itās a classic fish and crab house at its core. And since this is Maryland, thereās nothing like eating crabs on the water.
You can have a crab feast at The Choptank just like your backyard. Paper on the table, beer buckets within armās reach, and ride-or-die friends at your side. Itās even better though because you donāt have to clean up. Theyāll do it for you!
āTis the season. Grab your friends and make a reservation at The Choptank for a crab feast today.
P.S. If Choptank has the second best view, you may be wondering whoās best. Thatād be my friend Xander but we canāt go inviting everyone to his house now can we?
Quick Hits
āAnd for that reason, Iām outā āMark Cuban Electricity yesterday
Over 70,000 BGE customers in Anne Arundel County lost power yesterday afternoon. It wreaked havoc on businesses, WFHers, and perhaps most noticeably . . . roads. The City of Annapolis released a statement blaming āa power disruption at the Cedar Park substationā for the outage. BGE released a statement blaming āequipment failure.ā According to BGEās outage map, nearly all homes had power back by 10:30 PM.

Coffee, Cars, & Cops
You know what dads love? Aside from falling asleep during movies, bad jokes, and clinking grill tongs. . . . They love cars.
So if you are a dad, have a dad, are married to a dad, or you just love cars, you might want to block 9ā11 AM on June 18 on your calendar.
Westfield Annapolis is hosting the Mid-Atlantic Venom Mustangs & Muscle Cars Club and Anne Arundel County PD for a family-friendly gearhead gathering. Aside from the cars, there will also be a DJ, food trucks, and other family-friendly activities.

Summer concerts return
Although summer isnāt officially here for 19 more days, why let the Farmersā Almanac get in the way of good branding? Two popular summer concert series make their return this weekend.
Annapolis Town Center. Dust off the old Aloha shirt. Itās an island party at ATCās Boathouse Pavilion as Sons of Pirates kick off this 13-week series. 5ā8 PM next to P.F. Changās.

Then there will be a festival with live entertainment, food and drink vendors, and local shopping that goes right up until about 5 PM.
Letās break a record ā½ļø
The Annapolis Blues semi-pro soccer team has its home opener Saturday and we want to make some history. Detroit holds the attendance record for an NPSL soccer team. The Blues want to break that record with their first official match. Ticket sales are trending in the right direction (over 6,000 sold) but there need to be over 7,400 people to break the record. A full-price ticket is just $12 ($10 for kids) and the first friendly was a blast. Kickoff is at 7 PM at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Donāt miss the official tailgate! Get tickets.

Sporting women in the spotlight
Two all-woman sports teams are heading out of Annapolis this weekend; although for one, the journey is the competition. In 38 runnings of the Annapolis to Newport sailing race (AKA A2N), no team has ever been 100% female. Until this year. Leading the Change! is an all-woman team with an average age of 26. Theyāll sail on a Tartan 4100 called Kyrie ā owned by Annapolis resident Beth Berry.
Our other team is heading a bit farther afield. The Severn River Womenās Rugby Football Club is heading to Nationals in St. Louis and we want to wish them a huge good luck! Theyāll take on the Milwaukee Scylla Saturday at 4 PM. If they win, a spot in the 12 PM finals awaits on Sunday.
