🍦Money can't buy everything

But it can buy me a boat...

“100% recommend” 🍽️

The wonders of the modern world: the Great Wall of China, the Colosseum, the Taj Mahal, The Choptank’s rooftop. For legal reasons – that’s a joke. But when the sunset hits, it sure is a magical place.

Local live musicians, breathtaking views of the City Dock, and above all, the best of the best of Maryland’s famous cuisine. There’s plenty of seating so you can watch the bustling neighborhood and docks that surround you with friends and family.

And don’t just take it from us. Here’s what Brian said after his visit last month: “Great atmosphere and even better food.” Or Denise: “Everything about this place was excellent… And their warm cookie and ice cream dessert may have been the best thing I’ve ever eaten. 100% recommend.”

Don’t wait any longer. Make a reservation today and come see what the hype is about.

THE DIGEST

Money can’t buy everything

Well, maybe so. . . but as country crooner Chris Janson says, it could buy me a boat. You too can buy a boat (or at least dream) at the Annapolis Powerboat Show this weekend. We’ve got a handy dandy guide. We’ve got 4 tickets to give away (more on that below). And we’ve got our foul weather gear ready.

To enter the giveaway, just donate at least $5 to Annapolis Hope and send us your receipt. We’re picking 2 random winners (2 tickets each) at noon. ICYMI, Annapolis Hope is a yearlong effort to save the house of a family whose father died in the Wilshire Shooting in July.

Virtual snow day plan takes next step

A hotly discussed plan about very cold days in Anne Arundel County just took its next step forward. The MD Superintendent of Schools Mohammed Choudhury approved AACPS’ plan to potentially convert snow days and the like to virtual learning days.

AACPS Superintendent Dr. Bedell has constantly reminded families throughout the process that he doesn’t want to take away snow days entirely.

But there may be days where AACPS has to call off school for road conditions but things improve quickly. Instead of losing a day (that wouldn’t be that fun to play in anyway) and delaying the start of summer, AACPS can claw back up to 8 days with virtual learning.

Rotary Club of Annapolis supporting Annapolis Hope

The Rotary Club of Annapolis is taking its motto, “Service Above Self,” to heart this weekend. They’re going to operate a concession stand at the Navy Football game and donate the proceeds to Annapolis Hope. With a hungry crowd, it could lead to a $2,000+ donation. Thank you, Rotary Club of Annapolis!

LOCAL BUSINESS

Best Scoop in town

Every other day I’d say we have the best Scoop in town but today, I’ll make an exception. Häagen Dazs is now open in the dining court at Westfield Annapolis after what felt like a very short construction. You’ll find them right near the AMC escalator.

☕ Keep punching those punch cards!

We are almost 1 full week into October which means there’s a little less than a month left in The Great Annapolis Pumpkin Spice Coffee Crawl of 2023. I still get a little jolt of excitement every time you tag us on Instagram using your punch cards so keep it up! If you need a refresher on the rules or don’t know what this is, you can always visit annapolis.coffee to learn.
