A MESSAGE FROM MORABITO FAMILY DENTAL

Join Morabito Family Dentistry in Our Mission to Belize

Morabito Family Dental is committed to improving oral health in Annapolis & beyond. That’s why we organized a mission trip to Belize to improve the smiles of underserved populations there. Our trip runs from June 21 to 28 & is open to those 12 & up.

We work with the Yellow Bird Foundation to educate youth on oral health & provide services that would otherwise be unavailable to them. We’ll also expand beyond dentistry to help build a school office & offer a Vacation Bible School. This trip is a fun, exciting way to give back & make a lasting impact on the world while making memories that will last a lifetime. At the end of the trip, we will celebrate our successes with several fun activities. Anyone interested can call us at 443-603-9000 or click here for more information.

As always, we also offer free teeth cleanings for most insured patients, with convenient appointments from 7 AM to 8 PM & on Saturdays. Give us a call or schedule online today!

LOCAL BUSINESS

Foodie Friday 🇮🇪

Lauren here. I’m 50% Irish but 100% craving something grand. Lucky for you, these 5 spots offer top-notch Irish fare. ☘️

🍔🧅 Castlebay | 193A Main St, Annapolis, MD 21401 The all-day breakfast (Irish sausage, bacon, eggs, home fries, and toast) catches my green eyes. 👀 Meat eaters will have a tough choice from the Dublin Steak Sandwich, Irish Reuben, or Guinness Burger. Vegetarians can enjoy a Veggie Wrap, French Onion Soup, or Caesar Salad.

🦀🥃 O'Loughlin's Restaurant | 1258 Bay Dale Dr, Arnold, MD 21012 I spent many childhood birthdays living my best life, eating Snow Crab Legs here. Now? I’m craving the Whiskey BBQ Grilled Salmon.

For these next three, déjà vu is real. The Irish Restaurant Company runs them all.

🥧 Galway Bay | 63 Maryland Ave, Annapolis, MD 21401 Ryan always reminds us, there are no TVs inside. It’s intentional. Enjoy great conversation and food like fried pickles, Shepherd’s Pie, or Irish Tomato Whiskey Soup.

Editor’s note: +1 for the shepherd’s pie. 10/10 would recommend.

🐟🍟 Brian Boru | 489 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146 I’m a creature of habit. So when I go to Brian Boru, I always get the Fish & Chips.

🥔 Killarney House | 584 W Central Ave, Davidsonville, MD 21035 The Dublin Dip and Bangers & Mash look authentic, delicious, and savage (Irish for impressive).

P.S. Don’t forget to eat Lucky Charms for breakfast on Monday. I don’t make the rules.

The Annapolis Shirt Company leaving downtown after 20 years

As they say, it’s the end of an era. The building at 159 Main Street, home to the Annapolis Shirt Company for 20 years, has been sold and ASC has to vacate by the end of the month. The owners said in a Facebook post that they’ll still be selling custom shirts but we do not know where. In the meantime, everything is on sale so if you’re running low on Annapolis shirts, mugs, totes, and just about anything else you can print the word “Annapolis” on, head on over to 159 Main Street.

Local Coast to open Annapolis location 👕

Our friends Jose and Kristen Umana at Local Coast are on quite the journey. They started in 2015 with a small collection of sustainable t-shirts – hopping from market to market and popping up at events. Last September, they took a huge step and opened a store in Severna Park. And now, they’re making an even bigger splash – Main Street in downtown Annapolis. They’ll be opening this spring where The Leader used to be. We’ll keep you updated on the opening but until then, visit them in Severna Park or online to see what they’ve got – 550B Baltimore Annapolis Blvd, Severna Park, MD 21146.

WHAT’S HAPPENIN’

Dinner Under the Stars dates and performers revealed

Spring is almost here. One of the surest signs (besides the sometimes warm weather) is that we just heard dates for Dinner Under the Stars. This May-October weekly event makes a celebration out of Annapolis’ beautiful spring, summer, and fall evenings. There’s live music, dancing, pickleball, and — of course — dinner. Participating restaurants offer outdoor dining right on West Street (which is closed) so you can enjoy international and local flavors while relaxing in the laid-back atmosphere (under the canopy of lights crisscrossing the street).

Dinner Under the Stars is every Wednesday from May 21 through October 8, with a few special Saturdays mixed in. Early in the season, you can hear. . .

🎶 May 21: D'Vibe and Conga
🎶 May 28: Spice Band
🎶 June 4: Spirit of Jazz with Geno Marriott
🎶 June 11: Timmie, Tambo and Erich
🎶 June 14 (Saturday): A Celebration of the Arts with Bayside Big Band
🎶 June 18: Wendall Live (Frank Sinatra Tribute)
🎶 June 25: Spice Band
