What to Know About the Local Government’s Trip to Sweden 🇸🇪
You might’ve heard that a group of local government officials headed to Sweden this weekend to study with some environmental pros. The Capital had been hearing lots of questions so they decided to publish some answers. Here’s what you should know about the trip and why it’s happening.
Who’s headed to Sweden?
17 people, including city, county, and state elected officials. AAEDC, Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County, and the Resilience Authority are all represented.
What are they doing while they’re there?
Studying environmentally friendly and sustainable city infrastructure and management to bringing great ideas back home.
Why Sweden?
Sweden is a coastal community with an economy and culture that rely on the waterways. They’re also a leader among eco-friendly practices.
Why couldn’t they do this remotely?
To get hands-on interaction with the kind of projects we’re implementing here at home.
Who’s paying for this?
Not you and me. Unless you happen to run the MHE or Denker Foundations. Private donations, not tax dollars, funded 100% of the $75,000 trip cost.

Reynolds and co-hosts Bill Wagner and Eric Kettani also catch up with Navy Football Director of Player Development Brandon Jones. Listen now.
P.S. We think Keenan might be right. Since this episode was recorded, Navy smashed UAB on the road 41–18.
