Good morning, Annapolis. Anyone know what all that racket was around 2 PM yesterday? I couldn’t get anything done.

Let’s get to it.

If you haven’t heard (literally), the Blue Angels are flying over Annapolis this week. Yesterday was the rehearsal. The main show is today at 2 PM.

Since it’s why they’re here, our Commissioning Week Guide has everything you might want to know – where to watch, road closures, boating restrictions.

Rare combination

There aren’t many properties in Annapolis where you can keep horses on one side and a boat on the other. And aside from this, there are zero on the market. This one stayed in the Ridout family for 230 years. Rare indeed.

1811 Whitehall Road sits on 15 gently rolling acres leading to tranquil Jack’s Cove on Meredith Creek. You’ll love driving down the idyllic, tree-lined driveway to your picturesque, custom farmhouse. It has 4 bedrooms with 2.5 bathrooms and there are plans available for expansion.

Multiple outbuildings include a two-car garage, tack shed, pole barn, and 2 run-in sheds. In other words, everything you need to enjoy this coveted waterfront farm. Contact Brad Kappel today for your private tour.

Quick Hits

Aer Lingus College Football Classic 100% sold out

Navy’s first football game this year isn’t your average away game. To open the season, the Mids are heading 3,350 miles from home to a place where they don’t even measure in miles – Dublin, Ireland. This week, the Academy announced the game is 100% sold out. 40,000 international fans are expected to attend; 39,000 from the U.S alone.

That means once everyone’s had their last Guinness, the game will set a new world record for the largest number of Americans to travel internationally for a single sporting event. Bean counters at Grant Thornton estimate it’s worth almost €150 million to the Irish economy.

What’s Happenin’

Dinner Under the Stars (feat. Pickleball)

Wednesday Dinner Under the Stars is back and with it, the much-loved pickleball under the stars. For the uninitiated, Dinner Under the Stars is when we shut down West Street from Calvert Street to Church Circle and eat in the street. Dining choices include:

  • Luna Blu (Italian)

  • Tsunami (sushi)

  • 49 West (traditional European coffeehouse)

  • Stan and Joe's (classic bar food)

  • Rams Head Tavern (creative pub fare)

  • Picante (authentic Mexican).

Pickleball Under the Stars is when you play the fastest-growing sport in the world on an uneven brick street that sometimes makes the ball bounce like a U2 song. She moves in mysterious ways 🎵

The fun starts around 5 PM and goes until 10. Don’t miss one of Annapolis’ greatest treasures, Naptown Brass Band, performing tonight from 6–9 PM.

ICONS in Transformation

All artist proceeds and donations will support Ukrainian refugees.
