LOCAL BUSINESS
Dogs (and humans) đ Oscarâs Coffee
Waterfront charm. Treats for your pup. Good coffee. All out of a 1974 Shasta RV. If youâve been to Oscarâs Coffee, you know thereâs nothing like it. If you havenât, itâs a must. Oscarâs has been caffeinating Eastport neighbors in the Horn Point Harbor Marina parking lot for 6 months now. Itâs perfect for a hot cup on a weekend or weekday morning. Check it out daily from 7 AMânoon.
P.S. When we say dog-friendly we mean it. The shopâs named for co-owners Will and Garrettâs 7-year-old golden retriever. But new pups on the block (like another co-owner Lee Sneadâs new puppy, Frankie) are welcome, too. ($)
11th Hour/Midnight Madness
In honor of the final Midnight Madness of 2023, weâre gonna rewrite the words to a popular Christmas song. See if you can guess it by the rhythm and some of the original lyrics mixed in. The answerâs at the bottom of the email.
đ” Itâs the final Midnight Madness
Itâs the last one of the year
Now I sure know there wonât be snow
But have a local beer
Itâs the final Midnight Madness
But it ends at 11 PM
Say hello to friends you know
And everyone you meet
Oh-ho, the local stores
Are so much better to me
Who cares for Amazon
Surely, not you and me
Itâs the final Midnight Madness
And in case youâre tired, too
Oh, by golly
Have an espresso martini, or two đ”

Miracle in West Annapolis

Military Bowl + Parade
Festivities for the Military Bowl on 12/27 include a parade and game at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium featuring Virginia Tech vs. Tulane. For other nearby parking options head to militarybowl.link/transportation.
Luckily, lots of stadium neighbors sell parking in their driveways if you arrive early enough. May the parking gods be in your favor.

Offensive Coordinator (OC) Michael Phipps is leaving the USNA menâs lacrosse program for the same job at University of Maryland College Park. Itâs familiar territory. Phipps is a former Terp laxer and â07 grad.
He served one season as Navy OC that was heavily impacted by injuries to key players. Last year, Navy went 8-8, used 10 starting lineups, and averaged 10.25 goals per game. Navy now has to look for two OCs in two major sports. Last week, they announced that football OC Grant Chesnut will not return in 2024.
We wish Phipps great success and many celebratory post-game drinks next season at the classic UMD watering hole â RJ Bentley's! ($)
