Naptown Scoopâs Guide to the Annapolis Powerboat Show
I like to consider myself something of an Annapolis Powerboat Show expert. I go every single day of the show. Iâve worked at the shows. And in high school, Iâd stop and see boats on my drive home. For all of those reasons and more, the Annapolis Boat Shows team thought I was uniquely qualified to create a little guide for yâall.
So enjoy. This is the itinerary for Naptown Scoopâs Perfect Day at the Annapolis Powerboat Show. If you follow it to the letter, Iâll see you at the Fleet Reserve Club for lunch. Enjoy.

THE DIGEST
Graduation schedules announced đ
Didnât the school year just start? Yes, it did. But if youâre one of the many AACPS families with a graduating senior, you probably want to give out-of-towners plenty of time to plan ahead for the ceremonies in the spring. AACPS just announced the schedule for all 14 county high schools and other academic institutions.
Whatâs happening in Sweden?
Yesterday, we filled you in on 17 officials from Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, and Maryland who are in Sweden this week. If youâre like us and curious about whatâs going on every day theyâre over there, the Capital has you covered. Reporter Natalie Jones is with the delegation in person and sharing updates via X (formerly Twitter) @nataliemjones. The Capital is also posting live updates online.

WHATâS HAPPENINâ
Theater Tuesday đ
Two professional productions, which have been getting rave reviews, continue their runs this week:
Classic Theatre of Maryland presents Macbeth
This dark tragedy from Shakespeare has a little bit of everything: witches, prophecy, murder, war, and madness! See it come hauntingly to life this weekend through October 13.
Compass Rose Theater presents Intimate Apparel
Style and social commentary come together in this romantic story about Esther, a Black seamstress in 1905 NYC who sews clothes for the elites and the marginalized alike. It concludes its run this weekend on October 6.
F4AC Cornhole Tournament đŤ
Want to say, âBean there, won that?â Join the Fish 4 A Cure Cornhole Tournament on October 12 at Severna Park American Legion Post 175. Registration begins at noon and bags fly at 1 PM. For $60, youâll play at least four games. Enjoy beer, food, games, and raffles. F4AC is a fishing tournament and fundraising challenge making waves in cancer care in our community. Naptown Scoop is happily supporting it for the third year running! Now the only question is: Are you a frat spinner or a high lobber?
Peggy Stewart 250th Anniversary đĽ
Hereâs the tea: The Peggy Stewart 250 Committee is planning a big anniversary recreation in two weeks. No, they wonât actually burn anything, but they will put on a drone show that looks like fire surrounding a replica of a Colonial-era brig. Itâs probably the closest we can (safely) come to recreating the 1774 event often referred to as the Annapolis Tea Party, when angry colonists burned the Peggy Stewart and ushered Maryland into the Revolutionary War.
Now the 2-week countdown begins. The recreation is set for October 19 at 7 PM in the waters at Annapolis City Dock, so pretty much anywhere with a view of the harbor is a great place to watch. Want more insight into the event and the history it celebrates? Learn more.

The Board will hear public comment from up to 10 speakers each per agenda and non-agenda items. See more public comment details and read the agenda.
