That’s not cool, dawg

Don’t be this person. A reader told Scoop they pulled an overheated dog from a car this week on State Circle. The dog was in there for 30 minutes, which is about 30 minutes too long on a summer day. The kicker? The owner reportedly turned up 45 minutes later with a drink in their hand. Say it with us: hot dogs are for eating 🌭, not cars 🐶.

Artists Without Limits exhibit

31 pieces of art. 20 different artists. Endless inspiration. Local artists with disabilities have submitted their art for the 9th annual Artists Without Limits showcase. You can view them all at the Michael E. Busch Library now through September 18 during standard library hours. 1410 West Street, Annapolis, Maryland 21401.

Annapolis Blues 2024 season seats

I know, your tears are still drying from the Blues’ 4–0 semifinal loss. But if you sadly muttered “there’s always next season,” here’s your chance: 2024 season seats are now live. The worst part about pop-up shops? They don’t last forever. El Lunay’s famous pop-up shop is in its final summer weekend. You can shop the goods of over 80 local artisans and creators (including Naptown Scoop!) from 10 AM–6 PM through Sunday (7/31) at 4 Church Circle, Annapolis, MD 21401. 👩‍🎨 Annapolis Artisans Market

Love the thrill of the hunt? The Annapolis Artisans Market is this weekend and “finders, keepers” is the name of the game. Local By Design has two huge warehouses full of local artisans and goods and this is the one weekend a month it’s open for shopping.

Swing by 4–8 PM Friday or 10 AM–5 PM Saturday/Sunday at 1818 Margaret Avenue or 1805 C & D Virginia Avenue. Live music, adult beverages, and food trucks will keep you in good spirits.

Discoveries Library Community Pantry turns 2! 🥳

The Discoveries Library Community Pantry is celebrating its second anniversary! This year, it served 2,201 visits from local families, distributing 82,000 diapers and 1,600+ packs of menstrual products.

The Community Pantry distributes supplies twice a month at Westfield Annapolis Library. All you need is a Maryland library card. www.aacpl.net/pantry

Now, the pantry needs diapers, menstrual pads, toothpaste, and diaper cream.

Drop off at Discoveries or the Broadneck and Edgewater branches–anytime the library is open, or use Amazon or Target to have items sent directly.

🎸 City Dock Concert Series
Karousel band plays 7–9 PM Friday (7/28) and there’s a Fiesta from 6–9 PM Sunday (7/30). Bring your dancing shoes!

🌟 Dinner Under the Stars
30 odd days until school starts – what’s there to lose? Saturday’s Dinner Under the Stars features outdoor dining with your favorite West Street restaurants, pickleball, and live music from Naptown Funk. 6–10 PM

🌅 Watermark Music Cruise
90 minutes of open water and bliss while Red Betty and The Ruckus performs live music. Saturday (7/29) at 7:30 PM. Get tickets.

Anne Arundel County Farmers Market.
This local staple is celebrating 42 years. Scoop especially loves the morning buns from Makeathe. 7 AM–12 PM Saturday (7/29) | 9 AM–12 PM Sunday (7/30). 275 Harry S. Truman Pkwy Annapolis, MD 21401.

Farragut Farmers Market.
The Farragut Farmers Market at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium continues weekly through August 20. For its second season, the market has more vendors, yoga, live music, and more. Parking at the stadium is free but so is walking, biking, and skateboarding. 9 AM–1 PM Sunday (7/30).

Maryland Hall season kicks off with Broadway cabaret

A BMX biker jumps through a hula hoop . . . a Paraguayan group plays instruments made from garbage . . . Ms. Frizzle blasts into outer space. This isn’t a fever dream, it’s the Maryland Hall Presents 2023–2024 season. The 8-performance season has a little taste of everything for everyone.

The season launches this Saturday (7/29) at 7:30 PM when Broadway star Laura Osnes performs a jazz-infused cabaret. Get tickets and explore the whole season.

Rock the Dock tickets on sale now

Last year, the Annapolis Rotaract raised $22k at Rock the Dock. This year, they’re hoping you help smash that number for The Complete Player on September 14 at Maritime Museum. Tickets include beer, wine, a crush bar, all-you-can-eat BBQ, and live music by Loose Ties! Win big with a booze wagon raffle, silent auction, and giveaways.

Navy Football Fest is a proper fanatic’s dream: Players sign autographs and talk to fans. Kids play on the field in inflatable games and the first 250 get a free t-shirt. Saturday (7/29) 10 AM–12 PM. Fan Fest is free but parking at the stadium is $10.

Rain should hold off until 1 PM, so don’t be too phased by your weather app.
