Navy football fan fest, final weekend at HERE, not cool dawg...
TOGETHER WITH
Good morning, Annapolis. Looks like a possible rainy night on Saturday. Perfect for going to see Barbie or Oppenheimer. Or both. . . Barbenheimer. It’s a thing.
In today’s Naptown Scoop:

The Choptank just for you 🦀
When you think about Ego Alley, you think about The Choptank. The delicious food, the amazing location, and the beautiful view from the rooftop …
… but did you know they also offer private dining? The Choptank is now taking bookings for Fall and Winter events, parties, and dinners.
No need to worry about anything. Everything will be taken care of – the food, the drinks, the music. All you’ll have to think about is ensuring if you’ve invited everyone you wanted to…
Host your next event in the heart of historic downtown Annapolis. The Choptank’s spacious interior, waterfront deck, and iconic rooftop provide the perfect venue space for your special night.
THE DIGEST
That’s not cool, dawg
Don’t be this person. A reader told Scoop they pulled an overheated dog from a car this week on State Circle. The dog was in there for 30 minutes, which is about 30 minutes too long on a summer day. The kicker? The owner reportedly turned up 45 minutes later with a drink in their hand. Say it with us: hot dogs are for eating 🌭, not cars 🐶.
Artists Without Limits exhibit
31 pieces of art. 20 different artists. Endless inspiration. Local artists with disabilities have submitted their art for the 9th annual Artists Without Limits showcase. You can view them all at the Michael E. Busch Library now through September 18 during standard library hours. 1410 West Street, Annapolis, Maryland 21401.
Annapolis Blues 2024 season seats
I know, your tears are still drying from the Blues’ 4–0 semifinal loss. But if you sadly muttered “there’s always next season,” here’s your chance: 2024 season seats are now live. Grab early bird prices ($100 adult, $80 youth) before September 1. Season holders get perks like a jersey, scarf, exclusive access to team events, and more. See ya in the stands.

LOCAL BUSINESS
HERE.’s final weekend
The worst part about pop-up shops? They don’t last forever. El Lunay’s famous pop-up shop is in its final summer weekend. You can shop the goods of over 80 local artisans and creators (including Naptown Scoop!) from 10 AM–6 PM through Sunday (7/31) at 4 Church Circle, Annapolis, MD 21401. Click here to see the final special events El has planned. You’d look pretty good in a Scoop t-shirt 😉
👩🎨 Annapolis Artisans Market
Love the thrill of the hunt? The Annapolis Artisans Market is this weekend and “finders, keepers” is the name of the game. Local By Design has two huge warehouses full of local artisans and goods and this is the one weekend a month it’s open for shopping.
Swing by 4–8 PM Friday or 10 AM–5 PM Saturday/Sunday at 1818 Margaret Avenue or 1805 C & D Virginia Avenue. Live music, adult beverages, and food trucks will keep you in good spirits.

👨🌾 Market roundup
Martha Stewart told me to mix watermelon and feta. So I mixed watermelon and feta. It was 👌. Try it yourself this weekend from a local market:
Anne Arundel County Farmers Market.
This local staple is celebrating 42 years. Scoop especially loves the morning buns from Makeathe. 7 AM–12 PM Saturday (7/29) | 9 AM–12 PM Sunday (7/30). 275 Harry S. Truman Pkwy Annapolis, MD 21401.

Maryland Hall season kicks off with Broadway cabaret
A BMX biker jumps through a hula hoop . . . a Paraguayan group plays instruments made from garbage . . . Ms. Frizzle blasts into outer space. This isn’t a fever dream, it’s the Maryland Hall Presents 2023–2024 season. The 8-performance season has a little taste of everything for everyone.
The season launches this Saturday (7/29) at 7:30 PM when Broadway star Laura Osnes performs a jazz-infused cabaret. Get tickets and explore the whole season.
Rock the Dock tickets on sale now
Last year, the Annapolis Rotaract raised $22k at Rock the Dock. This year, they’re hoping you help smash that number for The Complete Player on September 14 at Maritime Museum. Tickets include beer, wine, a crush bar, all-you-can-eat BBQ, and live music by Loose Ties! Win big with a booze wagon raffle, silent auction, and giveaways.
