THE DIGEST
Park Place Garage to transition into gateless parking system 🚗 🅿️
Just like the new Hillman Garage, the Park Place Parking Garage will soon be a gateless parking facility. Starting around May, you’ll just drive in, schedule your time and pay (don’t worry you can always add more), then drive out. Pretty soon, parking garage gates may go the way of dinosaurs. There are plans to add this upgrade to the Knighton and Gotts Court garages too. ($)
Ever wondered how artists get into 57 West? 🎨
They just ask. And there’s still time to apply for Gallery 57 West’s summer exhibition if you’re a qualified artist. Applications are open through March 25. The guest artist participation period will run May 21–September 24. See qualifications and submit an application.

Maryland Day 2024 ❤️💛🖤
Maryland Day commemorates the founding of our beloved state on March 25, 1634 when settlers landed at St. Clement’s Island (now St. Mary’s County). In honor of Maryland’s birthday, there are heaps of events this weekend (March 22-24). They’ll share the diverse POVs from indigenous people, colonists, enslaved and newly emancipated people, tradespeople, and artists. Meet storytellers of the present and costumed interpreters from the past. Fun activities for all ages include walking tours, scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, and more. Peruse the day-by-day list of events, many of which don’t cost a thing.

Soccer Legend Don Gregg Dies ⚽️
Don Gregg, the most successful boys soccer coach in AA County history, died Tuesday of heart failure. The longtime Pasadena resident was 80 years old. His Hall of Fame coaching career included a 316-110-16 record in three decades at Severna Park HS. In that time the Falcons won 12 county championships, 13 regional crowns, and 2 state titles.
Gregg himself was a soccer star at Glen Burnie HS. After graduation, he went to Penn State on a track and field scholarship where he set the 220-yard dash school record. After PSU, Don enlisted in the Air Force and was later hired as a PE instructor at Severna Park. And the rest, as they say, is history. I hope they have soccer goals in heaven. ($)
