WHAT’S HAPPENIN’
St. Patrick’s Day festivities ☘️
It’s finally here. Bust out your green or you’re getting pinched. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade steps off Sunday (3/17) at 1 PM from Amos Garrett Blvd. If you’ve never been, it’s a sight to see. Shamrock the Dock (a 2-day festival) is all day Saturday and after the parade on Sunday. Everything you need to know about both events is in our Annapolis St. Patrick’s Weekend Guide 2024.
⚠️ PSA: We forgot to include something super important about parking at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for the parade. The free shuttles will not run from 12:30 PM until the end of the parade (3:30 PM ish) because they have to drive on the parade route.
Get your croquet tix! 🎟
It’s hard to believe St. John’s College and the US Naval Academy have been whacking and rolling in downtown Annapolis every spring for 40 years now. But that’s how long the beloved Annapolis Cup croquet tournament has gone on. If you’ve attended, you know why it’s such a longstanding tradition. Spectators dress in their spring best and make a day-long outing of watching the Johnnies and Mids tee off between the wickets.
Want to watch on Saturday, April 13? You need tickets — and because it’s the 40th anniversary year, demand will be high. Sales start today, so get your tickets early.
✅ While you’re ordering, be sure to check out the code of conduct. Remember that croquet is a civilized affair.
Gun Show at the Fairgrounds 🦌 🔫
Deer season is a few months away, but it’s never too early to plan. The first of three Gun & Knife shows is this weekend at the Anne Arundel Fairgrounds, from 9 AM – 4 PM Saturday and 9 AM – 3 PM Sunday. Tickets are $8 at the gate. All federal and local firearm laws and ordinances must be obeyed. The next two shows are June 22–23 and September 21–22.
