Today’s the day! We hope you have a fun-filled day of all things patriotic and summer-y.

If you haven’t already looked up details for fireworks and parades, here they are one more time in our 2024 Guide to Fourth of July in Annapolis.

Bonus: If you’re going to be downtown and want to see some folks become brand new American citizens, you can. Historic Annapolis is partnering with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to host a stirring Naturalization Ceremony this morning at 9 AM at the William Paca House and Garden and it’s free and open to the public (seating is limited).

22 new citizens will take the Oath of Allegiance on the terrace of the Paca Garden – a place which bore witness to our nation’s very beginnings nearly 250 years ago. I’m not crying, you’re crying. 🇺🇸 Congrats to the 22 new citizens!

Crabcake Review S3E4: Lures

Ryan and Chris are at it again, this time in Crownsville at local gem Lures. Ryan loves the beer selection, Chris was impressed with the buttered Brioche buns, but what about the cakes, you cry — what was the score? You’re gonna have to hop over to our Instagram or the Journal to find out.

Where to for Episode 5? Honestly, I don’t even know, but Chris gave the clue that it is somewhere on the South River . . . Stay tuned!

Sharks of the Chesapeake

Did you know Shark Week on the Discovery Channel starts this Sunday, July 7? Well they may not cover it on Shark Week, but did you know the Chesapeake Bay has at least 12 species of sharks that visit our waterways?

Weekend Preview 🌭

Stay calm and eat a hot dog. There’s still plenty of fun stuff coming up this weekend after today’s festivities. Here’s what’s on the calendar:

🎸 This week’s installment of the Annapolis Town Center Summer Concerts features ‘80s pop hits from Weird Science on Friday (7/5), 6–8 PM at the Boathouse Pavilion near P.F. Chang’s.

🍓 Do some Saturday morning shopping at the Wildberry Field Market 9AM – noon, where you can also get breakfast from the food truck and do yoga with Yoga Barn.

📽 Join Reynolds Tavern for "Dinner and a Classic" Outdoor Screenings on Sunday for Double Indemnity. The movie starts at nightfall (around 8:20 PM) and the kitchen is open until 10 PM.

🎨 First Sunday Arts Festival runs 11 AM–5 PM along West Street in downtown Annapolis, where you can shop with artisan vendors, listen to live music, and dine outside.
