TOGETHER WITH
Good morning, Annapolis. Weâre under a coastal flood warning until this afternoon. Just six inches of water can stall vehicles and a foot will float most cars. When in doubt, turn around. Stay safe and stay smart.
In todayâs Naptown Scoop:
Library unionization đď¸
Grand Illumination đ
Small Business Saturday đ¸
Letâs get to it.
â Ryan Sneddon, Rebecca Kraybill, & Lauren Burke Meyer
P.S. Happy birthday to Marriott! And happy early birthdays to Steve Casper, Charlyn Cassady, and Lory Eng! đ

A serene haven in the forest
Annapolis is known for its beautiful waters. And while we obviously have a lot of that, itâs not all this stunning town has to offer. Take Epping Forest, for example â verdant, enchanting, and ultra-private. And thatâs exactly where this home, 1701 Harfield Trail, is located.
This three-level house is the perfect blend of cozy craftsman style and modern living. Nestled in the lush greenery of Epping Forest, it's a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of life in 2023.
The home has it all: a spacious driveway, living room with fireplace, gourmet kitchen, and an elevated tub with forest views â and all of that in a private gated waterfront community in the forest. Does it get any better?
This house could be your home soon. Contact Brad Kappel for your private tour today.

Library unionization shelved. . . for now
Some AACPL employees want to unionize. Yesterday, AACPLâs board of trustees rejected their proposal. But that doesnât mean the union chapter is closed. The board said it respects the desire to organize, but is following legal advice that it cannot accept petitions recognizing unions without state-level legislation. The employees disagree, citing other Maryland librarians who have unionized without legislation. County Executive Steuart Pittman said heâll support legislation granting the workers bargaining rights if needed. ($)

LOCAL BUSINESS
See you at Small Business Saturday đď¸
Black Friday is great. But Small Business Saturday is even better.
Annapolis has taken part in the annual event on the Saturday after Thanksgiving for 11 years. Supporting local independent retailers and restaurants is the focus of the day. For our canât-get-off-the-couch crew, you can still shop 90 local stores online or order restaurant gift cards. Whatever or however you do it, letâs keep it local.
MedStar fills last space at 810 Bestgate
If youâre a doctor hoping to hang your shingle at 810 Bestgate Road, weâve got bad news. Just like my stomach on Thanksgiving, itâs 100% full. MedStar Medical Group just leased the final 19,739 square feet.
P.S. Shoutout to our favorite tenant (because theyâre a Scoop advertiser), Current Dermatology. The office feels more like a beach house than a doctorâs office đ´
