Introducing the Choptank CRAB FEAST 🦀

Always wanted to witness the birth of a new tradition? This is your chance! The Choptank is having its first ever CRAB FEAST on Saturday, April 27 and we can’t imagine a better setting than Annapolis’ iconic Ego Alley.

The feast includes 2 hours of all-you-can-eat crabs, Maryland crab soup, corn on the cob, hush puppies, watermelon, brownies, and much more. There will also be a specialty drink menu featuring buckets of beer, crush deals, and more.

Want a seat at the table? There are two seatings, 1 PM and 4 PM. Get your tickets today. And as proof that you were part of the first-ever event, a limited edition CRAB FEAST t-shirt comes with every ticket purchased!

THE DIGEST

Libraries closed for system update 📚

Bad news for bookworms. AACPL will close this weekend (4/6–7) for system upgrades. Libraries reopen Monday (4/8) at noon. During the closure, you won't have access to the online catalog or account info and you won’t be able to place holds. Several other online resources also won’t be available.

Seats still available for Watermark’s eclipse cruise

You want to see the eclipse. You want to get on the water. Why not combine the two? Watermark Journeys has a special cruise planned for Monday 2:30–4 PM so you can see the much-hyped solar eclipse from the Severn River. Get your tickets here.

WHAT’S HAPPENIN’

Annapolis Film Festival

Don’t think a film festival is when you have to travel to Cannes and actually know what cinematography means. We’ve got a film fest right here in Annapolis! And it’s pretty damn impressive. Whether you’re a film aficionado or just go to movies for the popcorn, you’ll find something appealing on the slate at Annapolis Film Festival.

Opening night was last night, and screenings are scheduled throughout the weekend at venues across the city. There are more than 70 films across all genres and interests. And with flexible ticket options — meaning you can see just one movie or get full a weekend pass — there’s no reason not to check this out. See the full schedule and get tickets here.

⛵️ Don’t miss sailing legend Gary Jobson’s documentary Unfurling the World Saturday at noon at Maryland Hall!

Don’t miss out: AAPI Festival

Bubble tea and kimchi. Japanese beers. Dragon dances. This is just some of what you can expect from the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Festival this weekend. Stop by the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds this Sunday from 11:30 AM – 6 PM for a full day of food, drinks, and live entertainment. Get a full preview and reserve tickets here.

Step aboard Pride of Baltimore II

You’ve probably seen it. That tall ship dominating the horizon around City Dock. That’s the Pride of Baltimore II and this weekend, you can climb aboard. Deck tours are 100% free on Saturday (3–6 PM) and Sunday (1–6 PM). Btw, if you want to impress your friends, the Pride is a Baltimore Clipper topsail schooner. Similar ships were used as small warships during the War of 1812 and in the illegal opium trade after the war.
