🍦What's replacing Pusser's?

Naval Bagels location #3, Always Ice Cream in Severna Park, easing bridge traffic...

TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Annapolis. To borrow a word from our friends down under (🇦🇺 đŸ¨ ), today’s Local Business section is an absolute ripper. Four HUGE announcements!

I’m so excited let’s just get right to it.

A MESSAGE FROM CURRENT DERMATOLOGY

Introducing the Ultimate Skin-Firming Duo: Sculptra + Sofwave!

Sofwave and Sculptra are the incredible, summer-safe treatment pair you’ve been looking for when it comes to lifting, tightening, and firming the skin- anywhere on the body!

Sculptra is an injectable “biostimuator” that helps restore facial volume and smooth out wrinkles and folds. It works by stimulating the body’s natural collagen production. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Sculptra works gradually over several months, producing longer-lasting effects.

Sofwave is the newest, non-invasive, FDA-cleared skin tightening treatment that uses ultrasound technology to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the skin. It’s designed to improve skin laxity, reduce wrinkles, and enhance overall skin texture and tightness.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, we are offering a FREE vial of Sculptra (worth $900) with any Sofwave treatment at Current Dermatology! Call 410-384-3045 to book your complimentary treatment consult today!

THE DIGEST

Route 50 summer ramp closures

This update hits hard since yesterday’s Bay Bridge traffic was so bad I missed Mother’s Day dinner. But Route 50 is designed for traffic. Local access side roads are not. So the SHA is stepping in with a few changes. To reduce congestion along residential back roads, they’re closing Exit 32 (Oceanic Drive) off eastbound Route 50 every Friday at 10 AM until Saturday at 6 PM. The closures start this week and go through Labor Day 🚗

Paperbacks & Pints with Kate Myers 📖 đŸť

If you haven’t gotten your hands on Annapolitan Kate Myers’ first novel, now’s the time. It’s also time to settle the age-old bookworm debate: paperback or hardback? Neither btw #teamKindle. Anyhow, head to Maryland Hall from 6–8 PM Wednesday (5/15) to toast Kate with local Forward beer and celebrate the paperback release of Excavations. Amy Poehler called it “funny, smart, and deeply delicious” so that’s good enough for us.

P.S. Kate’s not just a creative author. She’s also behind this whimsical Instagram account.

LOCAL BUSINESS

What’s going in after Pusser’s leaves?

Well, it’s finally time to know. After Pusser’s leaves Annapolis’ iconic Ego Alley this November, Atlas Restaurant Group will be hard at work. Because they’re opening two restaurants where there’s now just one. On the first floor, they’re opening Armada, a tequila bar and cantina with 200 seats (100 outside). And on the second, Marmo, an Italian chophouse with 350 seats (including 150 outside).

Marmo rendering

Armada is a brand new name for Choptank, although they operate a Mexican restaurant with a massive tequila selection at the bottom of the Four Seasons Hotel in Baltimore. Italian chophouses are an Atlas favorite. Tagliata is one of their most popular spots in Baltimore and they opened the first Marmo in Houston two years ago.

Atlas expects to open both restaurants in the summer of 2025.

New Naval Bagels

Good mooooooorning, Edgewater! You’re about to have a new breakfast option. Naval Bagels just revealed that they are opening store #3 at 3139 Solomons Island Road. They didn’t say when but don’t worry bagel lovers. We’ll keep you in the thick doughy loop 🥯

I’ve Always loved Severna Park

And apparently Always Ice Cream Company has too. Because they dropped a surprise announcement on Friday that they’re opening a store there later this summer! The cold creamy confectionery will open at 600 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. Conveniently, that’s right where the famous Severna Park Fourth of July Parade finishes. No word if it will be open for this year’s parade but our fingers are crossed.

P.S. To the Severna Park Barber Shop customers who recognize that address, don’t fret. Your favorite shear shop is just moving around the corner.

We’re gonna eat it all 🍨

So our Annapolis Hope fundraiser with Always Ice Cream Company is Wednesday (5/15) and we have a new goal. I want to eat all of the ice cream they have. Well, I don’t want to eat it all. That’d be a terrific stomachache. I need your help. The Cohen family, stewards of the Always brand, were kind enough to pledge 20% of sales in Annapolis (196 Main St) and West Annapolis (116 Annapolis St) for the fundraiser. So I want to make this the biggest Wednesday in Always history. — Ryan

P.S. I’ll be at the Main Street store 2:30–3:30 PM and Annapolis Street from 5:30–7:30 PM if you want to learn more about Annapolis Hope.

EXTRA SPRINKLES

Finally. . . my white car is white again

Confused? Let me explain. Pollen season is finally over. The pollen’s out of the air, but it’s still on the homes and cars that haven’t been cleaned yet. Blue Heron Property Services can’t help with your car, but they’re total pros when it comes to homes. They’ve cleaned hundreds of local homes with their special Soft Wash method. Still have pollen on your home? Call Blue Heron for a free estimate today.*

Every game. Every goal. Every great moment.

I was there for the Annapolis Blues' first goal. I was there when Jacob Murrell's penalty kick won us the conference championship. I was there for every Blues moment last season. Because I'm a proud season seat holder. For the money, there's no better entertainment in town – 6 semi-professional soccer matches and all home playoff games. Not to mention the swag, merch discounts, and buddy tickets. Opening day is June 1! Get your season seats today.*
