🍀 What’s the deal with St. Patrick’s Day this year?
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of the best events in town. If you haven’t been, this is our formal endorsement. It’s March 16–17. Here’s the full schedule courtesy of Annapolis’ favorite Irishman, John O’Leary.
Friday night is the sold-out Hooley. It sold out so fast even we don’t have tickets.
Saturday is Day 1 of Shamrock the Dock at City Dock. The Drinker and The Scholar kick things off on the main stage at noon sharp. Carbon Leaf closes it out with an 8 PM start. Several other performers like Spinphony and Timmie Metz are on the second stage.
On Sunday, the famous parade steps off from Amos Garrett Blvd at 1 PM and follows this route:
West Street ➡️ clockwise around Church Circle ➡️ Main Street ➡️ clockwise around Compromise Circle ➡️ Randall Street
Participants will march for about 2.5 hours.
Before the parade even starts, Poehemia kicks off Shamrock the Dock Day 2 at noon. At 5:15 PM, Dublin 5 will perform for the first time since last year’s parade; I’m not counting their performance at the Hooley cuz that’s sold out. At 7 PM, returning headliner Skerryvore will absolutely rock your green socks.
Shamrock the Dock is $30 per day for GA and $150 per day for VIP. The parade is free! The party starts in 22 days. Get all the information you need at stpatricksweekend.com 🍀

THE DIGEST
Edgewater’s getting more walkable
There’s a big problem with Route 214. It connects lots of neighborhoods, schools, and stores. . . but only if you’re on wheels. That’s changing though. The SHA is building a sidewalk along a half mile of 214 between Solomon’s Island Road and Mayo Road. The sidewalk will be ADA-compliant and will come with pedestrian signals, a crosswalk, and traffic signal at the 214-Mayo Road intersection. SHA expects the project to be done by 2025.
Volunteer opportunities
🌳 Get those green thumbs ready! Save Our Trees at Truxtun Park is back. Again. This time around it’s Saturday (2/24) from 9:45 AM to noon. Hurry – sign ups are filling up fast!
💡🏠 Want to get up close and personal with the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse? Docent training begins in April and they need some volunteers! Tours run twice a day on Saturdays from June to October. Email lighthouse manager John Potvin if interested.

Naval Bagels 🤝 El Oso
What do you do when you own a bagel shop that closes at 2 PM every day? Most people would call it a day and head home. Not Sean Adams. He recently decided to open an authentic takeout Mexican restaurant – El Oso. It’s open 4–8 PM every day but Sunday. Check out the menu and try something new! Btw, El Oso is only available at the Annapolis Naval Bagels, not Arnold.

A MESSAGE FROM ST. ANNE’S SCHOOL
What if you were asked to build an interactive museum exhibit in two days? And what if you were told it had to be made entirely out of cardboard and recycled or loose parts? Well, that’s exactly the challenge that St. Anne’s School students faced last week during Design Daze, an annual event focused on STEAM-filled fun. After spending two days ideating, collaborating, crafting, and ultimately, creating incredible interactive museum exhibits, students then served as informed and inspired docents during the student-led showcase. From natural history, to the aquarium, to air and space, each exhibit was as unique as its creators.
So if you're looking for a school that inspires creativity in fun, new ways, schedule a visit to learn more about what makes St. Anne’s School different.

WHAT’S HAPPENIN’
Patriot League Swim & Dive Champs underway 🏊♀️

Instead, we’ll encourage you to go support the Patriot League’s Swimming and Diving Championship this week at Lejeune Hall. Each day starts with swimming preliminaries followed by diving. Finals are in the evening. See the full schedule and get tickets. The championships run through Saturday (2/24).
REVISIT/REIMAGINE
As the perfect conclusion to Black History Month, the Banneker-Douglass Museum is opening its REVISIT/REIMAGINE exhibit on February 24. The multidisciplinary showing celebrates civil rights leaders and how their legacies affect Black Marylanders today. Reserve a spot at the opening reception.
