Farewell and following seas to Ed DeChellis, where to spend happy hour, when's trash day again...
TOGETHER WITH
Good morning, Annapolis. Tuck this in your pocket for the next time youâre strolling West Street and need a fun fact. The first theatre in Annapolis (and one of Americaâs first five) was called the New Theatre and was built in 1771 not far from where Rams Head Tavern sits now. George Washington used to enjoy plays there. He wrote about it in his diary.
In todayâs Naptown Scoop:
Farewell and following seas to Ed DeChellis
Where to spend happy hour today
Whenâs trash day?
Letâs get to it.

Moving? Letâs ditch the junk while youâre at it
Every time I move (which has been 3 times in the last 5 years), I look at everything I own and ask myself the same question, âHave I used or worn this in the last year?â And if the answerâs no . . . well, someone else gets the chance to love it.
Thatâs why I think itâs brilliant that U Relax Movers offers moving and junk removal services on the same day! Not only will they pack, lift, and haul everything out of your home and into your new one; they can get rid of all the stuff you donât want, too.
That means no separate calls. No extra hassle. Just one professional team, handling your move from start to finish.
U Relax, they move (and clean up too). Call 703 608-1935 or visit urelaxmoving.com to get a quote.

THE DIGEST

Whenâs trash day again?
If you live in Severna Park, you may have a new trash day. Starting Monday, the countyâs shifting some trash collection routes around. Plug in your address here to see if that includes you. Live somewhere else and always forget to put the cans out? Plug in your address here to see your day of the week. And for all other questions like what goes where, how do I get rid of yard waste (including Christmas trees), and will the county take my old refrigerator, go here anytime.
Who wants to be in a parade? đ đșđž
Even though they predate the United States by thousands of years, parades somehow feel quintessentially American. Feel the same as me? Maybe youâll want to put your business, nonprofit, civic organization, or even your book club in one of two upcoming parades.
Annapolis Memorial Day Parade: May 26 @ 10 AM
Annapolis Independence Day Parade: July 4 @ 6:30 PM
Interested parties can find all the info needed for either parade online (Memorial Day | Independence Day) but thereâs something you should know. Thereâs nothing political allowed in the Memorial Day Parade. Itâs for honoring Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice for fellow countrymen they never even met.
New Village Academy groundbreaking postponed
Quick update: New Village Academyâs 4 PM groundbreaking today has been postponed. The March 30 information session at Discoveries: The Library at the Mall is still on. It runs from 2â3:30 PM. New Village Academy plans to have a new groundbreaking date soon.

Leadership training programs are a dime a dozen. Colleges do them, big companies offer them, and weâve all seen an influencer or two slinging an online course. But local leadership programs are a different animal entirely. And the most well-known here is Leadership Anne Arundelâs Flagship.
Over 10 months, 45â50 folks get a behind-the-scenes look at our community. Itâs comprehensive, hands-on, and multi-disciplinary. Each month the group spends a full day diving deep into 8 different areas: Government, economic development, education, agriculture, and more.
The Class of 2026 starts in September but applications close March 31. So if this sounds interesting to you, get to typing.
