Letās think of Moose as a gift ā after all, he is wearing a bow and sitting under a Christmas tree. And you clearly recognized him as the gift that he is, because you voted Moose as the winner of our third Mutt Madness. Mooseās family wins the grand prize of a custom pet portrait and a Sea Dog Pet Boutique gift card. We want to give a huge thanks to all of you for playing along and to Western Shore Veterinary Hospital for sponsoring the fun. THE DIGEST
Annapolis Almanac: Tales From Our Past

If youāve driven around Annapolis, thereās a good chance youāve circled this particular building ā St. Anneās Church, which sits right in the middle of Church Circle (no nomenclatural coincidence btw). Itās the oldest church in Annapolis, dating back to 1692 ā if you know math, thatās 333 years old, and if you know history, you know the United States had not even declared its independence at that point.
The Province of Maryland passed the Establishment Act in 1692 to start construction on the State House, St. Williamās School (later St. Johnās College), and St. Anneās Church. It was only two years later that Governor Francis Nicholson began planning streets around the church and the State House, which explains these two traffic circles.
What might surprise you is that the current St. Anneās Church is actually the third structure on the spot. The original church, deemed too small and ugly for the growing Anglican population, was razed. The second church, which was started in 1775, took a little longer than anticipated because of the Revolutionary War. It later burned down and the current structure went up in 1858. Itās done in a Romanesque Revival style (AKA lots of archways, columns, and towers) and many elements, such as its baptismal font and its altar, are dedicated to notable parishioners from Annapolisā history.

How to Combat Inflation in Your Retirement Plan
Americans are faced with inflation daily ā the price of gas was once $1 a gallon; this is not the case today. Yet inflation is commonly overlooked when planning for retirement.
Inflation is different than the cost of living. The cost of living is how much it will likely cost you to live in a particular area. Inflation is how much that price will cost later down the road.
Inflation is particularly challenging because it erodes the value of your money over time. You may not notice it. You just wake up one day and realize $20 used to buy an entire cart of groceries, now it only buys a few items.āÆ
The good news is there are strategies you can use to combat it. Scarborough Capital Management lays them out for you here.
