šŸ¦No more free shirts

Rotary scholarship, Y Turkey Trot, Fountain of Youth...

Good morning, Annapolis. You didnā€™t win the Powerball either, eh? Although thatā€™s exactly what someone who won and didnā€™t want anyone to know would say. . . šŸ¤”

In todayā€™s Naptown Scoop:

  • Rotary scholarship

  • Theatre Talk Tuesday

  • Jazz festival

Letā€™s get to it.

P.S. Happy Birthday to Eileen Mitchard!

TGAPSCC2023 Punch Card Update

Good news and bad news. The bad news is that 25 completed punch cards have been submitted and accepted by TGAPSCC2023ā€™s caffeination verification team. That means all the free Drink Local or Die Trying shirts are gone. But thereā€™s good news.

We still have plenty of shirts and TGAPSCC2023 goes until November 3!

If you submit a completed punch card now, instead of getting a free shirt, you get a code for 25% off in the TGAPSCC2023 shop. And remember, proceeds from TGAPSCC2023 support Annapolis Hope and Rising Tide Society.

So keep caffeinating local. Keep an eye on the evil empire (Starbucks). And Donā€™t Give up the Scoop!

THE DIGEST

Annapolis Hope kickoff

Tonight is a very important night. At 5 PM at the Annapolis Maritime Museumā€™s Park Campus, a group of Annapolitans making a real difference will gather around a shared mission. Itā€™s the Annapolis Hope kickoff event (whatā€™s Annapolis Hope?). Who should come to this? Anyone on this list:

  • People who want to personally financially support Annapolis Hope

  • People who want to volunteer to help Annapolis Hope

  • People working for organizations that want to financially support Annapolis Hope

  • People who want to help Annapolis Hope in any way they can

Weā€™re gathering to celebrate Annapolis Hopeā€™s successful startā€”over $20k raised so far. But this is just the beginning of Annapolis Hope. In the famous (and somewhat modified) words of John Paul Jones, ā€œ[We] have not yet begun to fight!ā€

5ā€“8 PM @ 7300 Edgewood Rd, Annapolis MD 21403. Get tickets.

Scholarship alert for world travelers šŸ—ŗļø

Annapolis Jazz & Roots Festival returns šŸŽ·

Annapolis didnā€™t always have a jazz festival. Thatā€™s why the first-ever Annapolis Jazz & Roots Festival in 2022 was as important as it was fun. And why weā€™re just as jazzed that it returns again November 3ā€“12. There are two weekends of music across Eastport venues:

  • November 3ā€“5: Halleyā€™s Hot Gumbo Swingtet at Peerless Rens Club, Nyame Nti at Eastport-Annapolis Neck Library, and Ronn McFarlane at Eastport United Methodist Church

  • November 11ā€“13: Melodic Intersect at St. Lukeā€™s Episcopal Church, Hazel Mitchell-Bell at Eastport United Methodist Church, and ā€œBossa Nova and Beyondā€ at St. Lukeā€™s Episcopal Church.

Thatā€™s just a sneak peek. Learn more and grab tickets here.
