🍦Have you seen these 🐉 boats?

HERE. for Hope, Navy women's soccer, Harbour House pool

TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Annapolis. This is Naptown Scoop. The newsletter equivalent of a hot beach donut. It just hits different.

In today’s Naptown Scoop:

  • HERE. for Hope 💖

  • Navy women’s soccer recruits ⚽️

  • Harbour House pool opens to the public 🏊

Let’s get to it.

Scoop’s trying our hand at selling boats

And we’re starting with this one.

Photo: Drone US Photography

Why that one you ask? Because it belongs to Scoop’s sales guy, Mike. And since Tri-State Marine moved in next to our new office, Mike wants a new boat – a real pretty Grady White. But everyone knows the problem with buying a new boat.

You have to sell the old one first.

I’ve always thought Scoop could sell boats. So now it’s time to put on our lab coats and goggles to test that theory. It’s a 2021 Sea Ray 320 Sundancer OB Coupe and I’ve personally driven it down the Severn River.

Check out the listing if you’re interested. She sure is a pretty boat. And I hired one of the best boat photographers around to do it justice.

HERE. for Hope 💖

Maybe you’ve heard about HERE. a pop-up shop and you’ve been meaning to stop by and check it out at 186 Main Street. Next week’s the perfect time to do it, because they’re hosting a happy hour fundraiser on Wednesday 6–8 PM to benefit Annapolis Hope. A portion of all sales will go to benefit this charity to help the Mireles family in the aftermath of a 2023 shooting.

While you’re there for happy hour, you can hear from local musician Luke Borchelt and cool off with a pop-tail from Tasty Toucan.

🧢 Plus, we’ll be there with Naptown Scoop hats for sale. All proceeds from hat sales will go directly to Annapolis Hope!

Harbour House pool opens to the public 🏊

Want some good news during the dog days of summer? 🥵Harbour House pool (located at 1165 Madison Street in Eastport) opens to the public today at 11 AM! It’s amazing news since the Kenneth R. Dunn municipal pool at Truxtun Park is so popular they often have to turn people away.

The best part is it doesn’t cost anything. The pool will be open daily from 11 AM to 5 PM and serves residents of Harbour House and Eastport Terrace – and all Annapolis residents – especially when the Dunn pool reaches capacity.

Have you seen these boats around Annapolis? 🐉

The long boats making their way along Annapolis waterways are known as dragon boats — and they are part of the Annapolis Dragon Boat Club (ADBC). Dragon boat racing is a global trend with roots in Chinese lore. This local club promotes healthy bodies and spirits to support the recovery of breast cancer and all other cancer survivors and to build community.

The club recently received a $2,500 grant from Bosom Buddies to support its ADBC’s Brigitte Wallace McKee fund, which supports Breast Cancer members who wouldn’t be able to join and enjoy the benefits of ADBC membership without financial support.

Nothing in this section is sponsored. They're just the things you need to know. I'll always let you know when something's sponsored.
